The actual certificate was never released, only a facsimile, electronically, which is what fuels the people like this Lt. Col. from believing Obama's legitimacy. Soldiers have no requirements of Constitutionality nor does the average soldier (not sure about Lt. Colonels' though) put their daily lives through a Constitutional filter. You do what you're told and you trust in God and Uncle Sam. Rarely is there room to question as the penalty's even if you're right, are sometimes severe and no one gives a **** if you're right or not.

He has a right to choose - do what he's doing or defy his commanders and go to court martial. He's chosen the latter. His basis is his own, but no, there's no legal basis in military law that I'm aware.

LOL So wait a second... you actually think that a president should just send out his paper version of his birth certificate to be handed about the public? Seriously?

The only ones EVER released for ANY president are copies of the original. With good reason.

So you expected them to, what, order several hundred thousand copies from the Stater of Hawaii and mail them to anyone who asked for it?

They made it public on the internet. The state officials said it was legitimate. That's about all need be said (unless someone is going to come along and say the only proof is video of his birth, like they're saying with the teabaggers spitting on black congressmen).

(BTW, they did let FactCheck.org see the actual paper document and examine it in detail).

No matter how much the left defends this clown there is still something wrong with this whole situation....Barry, Barrack, Hussein Obama should come clean on this........My only problem is if they **** can this loser then we get Biden as prez......do we really want that?

Come clean on what? He has done what every president before him has done. Submitted a copy of his birth certificate. So what does he need to come clean on?

Actually, he is probably the first ever to make public a copy of his birth certificate. It is not required by law or the Constitution, and he didn't (and didn't have to) submit it to anyone official. So he actually went out of his way to prove his birth. Didn't help of course, as the loons came out of the woodwork with their conspiracies.

A lot of people disagree with a prez but the birth place is not usually in doubt but when a president like Obama lies about everything it causes some doubt....

Look, dude, I don't care for Obama. I didn't want him in office and I still don't. But I'm not so childish as to sit here and try and come up with outlandish reasons for him to be disqualified to sit in that office. And then when those outlandish reasons are shot down with facts, to sit there and call everyone a liar. It's just ridiculous.

He was elected, whether we like it or not. He has gone above and beyond what has been necessary for ANY other president to prove his birthplace.

Deal with it. Address your state representatives now to help facilitate or block the changes you want. Then, vote your conscience in the next election. But sitting here just making **** up about his birth certificate is simply grasping at desperate straws.

Its a question of creditability and proves Obama is a liar in that he could not sit in that church for 20 years and not hear Wright's hate speech against this country.........

So I can see how he got the state of Hawaii, including a Republican governor, to go along with his forgery of his birth certificate. A few payoffs, maybe sending a few people to some FEMA death camps will accomplish that.

But how did he make thousands of copies of the newspaper with that fake birth announcment and sneak it into every library on earth, including microfilm? That had to take at least a week of careful planning. Very impressive.

I liveed in the state of Hawaii for 5 years and it is and always has been onee of the most corrupt states in the union.........All of the reps in congress From Dan Inouye on down are dems and for the most part always have been..........

I thought he should have provided a public viewing of his actual certificate when this whole thing started during the campaign. It would shut people up and diffuse the conspiracy nuts that were sure to get vocal. If he did that, there'd be no fuel for these people to run on. Come on now... conspiracy's are an American past time. I'm firmly of the belief that Obama consciously didn't share it in hopes to use the conspiracy nuts against his political enemies and to paint them with that broad brush.

Not sure about ... I know of no original Certificates of Birth's being released while in office but there may have in our history been a time/reason; posthumously they are released. The birthers will simply have to wait until Obama kicks the bucket. To put at risk the Constitutionality of an entire Presidency by lying / fraudulently certifying a non naturally born citizen as President is almost unthinkable.

NOTHING Obama did would take away their fuel. He could have provided video of his head coming out of his momma in front of Mon Lau and they'd say it was faked. It was perfectly reasonable to post his birth certificate on the internet. Anything more would have just added fuel, not taken it away. These people will believe anything, no matter how absurd.

If it is because he is scared... Well, he wasn't scared enough to not complete his first term.

Also, where Americans banned from traveling into Afganistan in the 1980s? I don't know the whole situation but supposedly Barack went into Afganistan for a few weeks in 81? Is it correct that Americans couldn't get passports n such at that time? Or are people just putting out misinfo?
