GOP wary of health law repeal push in fall races - Yahoo! News

Repeal is politically and legally unlikely, and grass-roots activists may feel disillusioned by a failed crusade. More important, say strategists from both parties, a fiercely repeal-the-bill stance might prove far less popular in a general election than in a conservative-dominated GOP primary, especially in states such as Illinois and California.

This is why I have been saying that the outcry from the GOP is nothing more than political grandstanding. This article lays out the exact argument why the GOP will not seek actual repeal.

Precisely what I have been saying.
Political suicide to even suggest this while electioneering for Midterms.

What they could do is electioneering on changing the plan to make it more affordable.

They could also electioneer on the promise that everyone in the US would have to take up this insurance including those in the House and Senate.
But of course this will never happen.

What crusade the GOP members of the House and Senate pretty much sat back and watched these Socialist Bills be pushed through by way of the use of bribes threats and intimidation. But mostly by the use of massive lies about the content.

As more of the costs like the elder care $140 amonth bill hit everyone's pay check the numbers who demand repeal will grow.

If this plan is allowed it along with Cap & trade wil bankrupt this country which gas been Obama's plan from the start.

Read the Cloward and Pevin Strategy and see the guide Obama has been following along with rules for radicals/

But then many Liberals can't read or comprehend what they read all they can do is follow Der Fuhrer's marching orders as he continues to lie his ass off all the while pushing his anti-American agenda.

:funny

I get such a hoot out of those that actually believe Obama is a (where's the dramatic music when you need it?) "socialist." Of course then, anyone to the left of Attilla the Hun probably is a communist to these people!

What a bunch of spineless whimps and then they go to us and want our vote. Just because its popular doesnt mean its a good thing to support. No government take over of a complex system such as health care can yield anything good.

"It's just not going to happen," Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said of repeal in a speech Wednesday. "It's a great political issue," he said, but opponents will never muster the 67 votes needed in the 100-member Senate.

So Corker knows this for a fact? Whatever happened to "You dont quit until you try." I rather have an opposition that tries and fails than an opposition that wont get off its ass.

The point is....all of the GOP fervor is intellectually dishonest.

They know FULL WELL that there is not going to be a repeal. They don't even really WANT the repeal themselves, because they know that once the bill goes into effect, repealing it would be suicide for them.

Their screams and antics are nothing more than political grandstanding.

Agreed. And much of the divisions we've seen in recent years have been. Republicans and democrats have too often been more about creating a divide, controvesy, than actually doing anything. That's why I think it is important to look at what they have actually done and not what they say. Republicans had the chance, but did nothing on health care reform, abortion, or even stopping flag burning, let alone something like immigration reform. Democrats have only been slightly better, actually making some movement on health care reform (though too watered down and less than it should have been).

Was that even necessary? I mean, really!?! That's like me saying you should learn how to use the correct punctuation marks in a sentence or spell check. (See those items in red). Not very nice is it?

LOL. I always love it when people get on someone for their spelling errors and then make spelling or grammar errors themselves.

These are the interwebz - puntuation and capitalization are optional. However, comprehension no matter how one punctuates or capitalizes it is a requirement if a discussion is to take place. However, comprehension isn't just an Obama drone problem, it's widespread and affects all political affiliations.

My point here was Councilman's comment concerning Liberal's reading comprehension level is totally off base and has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Uhh, the Democrats have 41 seats that aren't even up for reelection in 2010. Even if the GOP wins literally every seat, they can't even get enough Senate seats to break a filibuster. This isn't counting the 8 seats that Democrats have that they poll like 20+ points ahead on.

I agree....I was commenting in support of what you wrote....Councilman criticizing and then making elementary spelling and grammatical errors was classic!
