President Obama to be interviewed on Fox News

Ya I agree, but a lot of people will love the interviewer for it.

Sure--fellow assholes will love the interviewer.

I think someone should ask the president tough questions. But interrupting him as much as this interviewer did, I don't care whether it was Bush or Obama being interviewed, it's entirely unprofessional and shows poor jounalism skills.

I'm sure Obama prepared for this and I'm sure he has staffers who watch Fox and know what kind of questions to expect, how they would be phrased, what phrases would be used etc etc. A lot of people who watch Fox use it as their only news source, and I don't mean that to be negative, but when a host on the show rails against Obama for something they obviously expect that given the chance to say it to Obama's face he would, he doesn't want to look weak obviously.
I'd gamble that the interviewer was pandering to his base by trying to make Obama look as bad as possible, so all those at home who feel so inclined can cheer their man for the "victory."

Can somebody explain to me why people like that crap? With shouting/interrupting matches, you don't know what the person being interviewed had to say and you don't learn anything. What do people get out of that?

Because it wasn't solely about the interview per say. It was also a lot about the interviewer being tough and an ass to some one his viewers don't really like.

I wonder if he is proud of himself. "Hey, I was an asshole to the president. Look how great I am."

NOT.

I would say he's proud of the paycheck he received from Fox for giving their viewers what they want.

Don't know and honestly don't care. All parties should have known going into the interview what it was going to be like.

I mean do I think he should have shown the President a bit of respect. Yeah he probably should have and a lot of people will be annoyed by it, but in the same respect a lot of people will be happy with it. Personally, I think it was a bad decision to give the interview in the way he did. I was hoping he was going to interview President Obama like O'Reilly did because I thought O'Reilly did a pretty good job. Alas this was not the case.

Oreilly should do the interview and the questions should not pre screened.........

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fze2J2Ve9is"]YouTube- BANNED Pres. Bush Interview[/ame]

As the tough questions. Keep the interviewee on point, and try to avoid stock answers.

However sometimes thats not exactly possible. Unless you smuggle out the tape.

Even Coleman had to agree to not use her own cameramen and technicians in order to get the interview. The interview was taped by White House staff television technicians.

Banned...on Utube...thats a little like people going to the University of Ohio and speaking to a crowd of 80 thousand people live plus broadcast (getting paid quite handsomely) and then saying they have no freedom of speech. Sayyyy what???

To the interview...decent interview...both sides.

I dont watch TV News...so I am dependent on others opinions. What did YOU think of the fox news interview with Obama?

I didn't catch it. What is it with being Irish on the 17th of March?....tip of my tongue.......?

Nope got nothing.

obama's answers to questions purposely are to take ten minutes each

he attempts to use the prestige of his office to dominate the debate

he's done it in his press conferences the first 6 months of his tenure (that's how long it's been since he's had one)

he did it in both his stupidity summits, in baltimore and at blair

he wants to talk about what he wants to talk about, even if we've all already heard everything he has to say, literally, 500 times

extending coverage, bending the cost curve, not adding a dime to the deficit, the call for courage, ms natoma canfield...

whereas millions of americans have real and sincere questions about this deem, about expanding medicaid massively while cutting its funding, about paying for two thirds of jovian ambitions by cutting waste, fraud and abuse, about 10 years of taxes vs only 6 of benefits, about mandating that individuals must buy a private product...

he sure doesn't want to talk about any of that

even if it's the entire purpose of going on fox in the first place

he can, does and will say all his ms canfield crap in ohio, in pennsylvania, in st louis

even if all the moderate dems in those districts run away from him

but the whole purpose of going on fox, supposedly, was to look at the other side

but he just CAN'T

and that's the point

he filibusters and avoids answering direct questions

trying to keep him on point is not interrupting

it's trying to get an answer out of him

and he's not even a good spinner

on the kickbacks, he's incoherent

louisiana has something to do with earthquakes in hawaii (LOL!)

and when it comes to the actual bill itself:

"by the time the vote has taken place, not only will i know what's in it, you'll know what's in it..."

LOL!

Again...define banned...like...was she an affiliate of one of the networks? Quite frankly I saw MUCH tougher and MUCH more snide interview questions from American interviewers during the Bush presidency. Why on earth would it have been 'banned'? Does not having an outlet equal banned?

I just dont see anything damning in the video...of her OR of him.

I thought Obama did his usual tap dance around the questions.

"Tap'? Don't people usually just dance around the questions? But he had to tap dance. Freudian slip?

I thought it was a good interview. The one thing I noticed was that she would ask a question and Bush would answer her question.

Contrast that to the Obama interview where Brett would ask a question and obama would ignore the question and talk about how great his health care bill is and the benefits that will result.
