hate to bring religion into your discussion but I think PETA is a message from the Almighty saying PLEASE EAT THESE ANIMALS.

Where is this Billion dollars coming from and is Obama going to want it named after himself?

If they could get it built in 6 months and it could be named the Obama Memorial Embassy that would be perfect.

Don't get me wrong I'm not wishing that any harm come to anyone ever but we can dream can't we.
 
$1b is way to much to spend on an embassy, I think in this instance the US should build a new one not only for because the citizens have protested (and understandably so) regarding current safety measures, but also for national security reasons. US relations with the UK is critical, and our embassy there is important (maybe the most important in the world). I am for building a new one, although I don't support spending $1b on it and decking it out with a moat...

While it can give estimates, the State Department doesn't create budget for its projects. Final authority rests with Congress, and I will be very surprised if this was a partisan issue.
