CPAC: Ron Paul wins CPAC straw poll - ends Romney's CPAC domination

That is because Paul was for all purposes put of the race long before the election..

Exactly, he wasn't actively running in the general election, and only got 20,000 votes from write ins, while McCain lost by 10 million, so this statement:

Navy Pride said:
all he did was help Obama get elected by taking votes away from McCain...

Is accurate only so much as I'd be accurate if I said "Me throwing a bucket of the water into the ocean helped to keep the sea levels high"

Evidently that 0.2% of the popular vote translated into McCain losing 192 electoral votes. Those damned libertarians are a sly bunch!

Well I would have been curious to see had he stayed in the race how many votes he would have received...It probably would not have influenced the final count but it would have been a hell of a lot more then 20,000.......

Because Conservatives usually vote Republican and he siphoned some of those votes from McCain although he was no factor..........
I thought libertarians were liberals in your world. Now they're conservatives??

Their politics are much closer to Conservatives then they are to Liberals.....Take a look at Ron Pauls platform sometime.....you might learn something, not.......

Well you did not know he had a lot of conservative positions on the issues......

And yet you call people that support him your "Left wing friend" which is likely why coronado and others are confused by you suddenly saying he's going to damage republican.

You like Ron Paul? Well, you're Navy's Left Wing friend.

You voted for Ron Paul? Well, that obviously hurt republicans.

There's why people are confused.

I know what his positions are. I do not know what your definition of "conservative" is though, and that is the reason I said "in your world".

From what I've been able to glean, anyone to the left of the John Birch Society is a "lefty" to you which, of course, is ridiculous on its face.

In ones profile they can say anything they like as to their politically leaning but what they post usually gives them away..If someone sends me a snotty post I call them my left wing friend ......With you its just fun......Been that way since 2005........

Most of Paul's politics I like but there are several I could never agree with....

I don't care what you know..In fact I never have posted you unless it was in sresponse to one of your posts........

Ron Paul is kinda like a needle. All other politicians seem to be the haystack. Whatever that means.

I'm hurt.

Thanks for pointing that out, though. Frankly I've never noticed.

He sure took a bunch away from Paul.........:rofl

Well there were many problems that go around. But the point is that Paul didn't make McCain lose. McCain made McCain lose...and Palin. They lost because they're losers who couldn't solidify a base against Obama. There were other hurdles that election as well coming off the huge failure of the Bush presidency and the huge mess it left us in. Now in the end, the republocrats are the republocrats and there's very little difference between a McCain or Obama presidency. But you can't blame McCain's failures on Paul. Paul offered a choice that wasn't being offered by either candidate...limited, controlled, responsible government. Now he was slandered as much as possible by the GOP and others to keep him out of the light as much as possible; but the fact remains. Paul cannot be blamed for the failures of McCain/Palin. They lost that themselves by being useless and no different than Obama.
