Final Proof Of Twitter's Uselessness

Twitter is like a blog, except the entries are shortened to small messages, called "tweets". Twitter is also fluff, in that, in addition to reading someone's recipe, you can read someone else's rant about how Obama is a Communist Muslim Fascist who is not a US citizen, and cheated to gain the presidency, or how Bush was the antichrist that singlehandedly engineered 911 for his own benefit, and cheated to gain the presidency.

Browsing through Twitter is much like taking a tour of the local insane asylum. And, as for hard news, if I see anything on Twitter, I will first look to confirm it with a link to a legitimate source before making myself a laughing stock by posting it.

twitter, losers "Tweeting" about thier mundane lives...... Then there are the bigger losers who read said "Tweets"...

This is the hulahoop of this generation.

Comedy, recipes, what your fav celeb is doing, is OK if you're into that. For news it's like having 300,000 or so Matt Drudges. Tabloid news.

Twitter isn't completely useless. Our Dean of Students offers free tickets to sporting events if people tweet certain things. Of course the people who win the tickets are random, but still hanging with the Dean of Students is pretty cool.

And there you have it. Shall we refer to those with twitter accounts as "twits"?

I joined Twitter because I am an Africam watcher and it has been a great tool for that.
I get a notice if there is a leopard, lion, cheetah, rhino, jackal, hippo, giraffe or other wild animal at the waterholes and can check in instead of having to watch the screen all the time.
Other than that I could do without it.

FB has been good for seeing pictures put up by my son in Iraq and also working on a high school reunion.
