This would really get the attention of the Bleeding Heart Liberals who feel that DADT should be repealed.........If that happened that would mean some of you young people would be able to see how it feels.......I wonder if you might change your mind on the issue.....

Huh what? What does DADT have to do with the draft?

Its just Navy Pride trying to use the FEAR CARD to scare people from wanting to support the repeal....nothing more nothing less.

Like I said Senior Officer and enlisted will leave the service in droves........

No one will want to enlist...............

You are so wrong Navy. Have you even looked at your own link on a similar post.
73% of soldiers support ending the ban (see Navy...they aren't as close minded as your generation which you are supporting your opinion on).

Have you watched the video on the link that YOU posted.
They show the troops laughing at the DADT policy when Stephen Colbert is making fun of it.

Most soldiers like most Americans are not the bigots that existed decades ago.

Wouldn't you like to see DD drafted........He would change his tune then........

I'm too old to be drafted. But you know what Navy.....I have no problem working with anyone....black, white, gay, straight, male, female.

People are people. I don't judge and discriminate in the way that you and your old cronies do.

I just post without comment Pvt Disney Dude..I love it........

Oh and the point of that post for the 100th time was proving to you that 14,500 people got discharged because of DADT since 1994.......You can keep posting that **** over and over again but I was calling you on the people discharged..........you were wrong and I was right.........:rofl

And you are basing this on what? Your own outdated beliefs that most people don't agree with any more, especially young people?

Navy....you are so afraid of change and ending discrimination...which is evidenced by you trying to play the fear card here.

Right-wingers are so afraid of ending DADT because they are afraid that people who might otherwise not be exposed to gay people will find out that they aren't the monsters that the radical right wants them to believe.
Most every study shows that people who know gay people on a close basis, support gay rights substantially more than those who don't.
The right-wing fights against this because they are afraid that if Americans become more and more acquainted with gay people, the lies of the right-wing will be exposed. Isn't this your true agenda Navy?

Its easy to say PVT but if they can't get enough draftees they could raise the age limit but your right you would never go if drafted........Your ass would be in Canada before sun set...........:rofl

Then why are you running from your link. (Because you didn't read it)....Navy...your own link disproves everything you keep saying. Do you REALLY want me to post it here again for everyone to see?

Did my link not say 14,500 people have been discharged since 1994.......Yes or no? No bull ****............That was the question you were doubting................I don't care what else it said...........you lose..........

HERE IS NAVY PRIDE's OWN LINK:

Military Attitudes
73 percent of military personnel are comfortable with lesbians and gays (Zogby International, 2006).
The younger generations, those who fight America's 21st century wars, largely don't care about whether someone is gay or not-and they do not link job performance with sexual orientation.
One in four U.S. troops who served in Afghanistan or Iraq knows a member of their unit who is gay (Zogby, 2006).
The Public Overwhelmingly Supports Lifting the Ban
Majorities of weekly churchgoers (60 percent), conservatives (58 percent), and Republicans (58 percent) now favor repeal (Gallup, 2009).
Seventy-five percent of Americans support gays serving openly - up from just 44 percent in 1993 (ABC News/Washington Post, 2008).
Ban Hurts Military Readiness
The U.S. must recruit and retain the greatest number of the best and brightest-especially during two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The military has discharged almost 800 mission-critical troops and at least 59 Arabic and nine Farsi linguists under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" in the last five years.

Did my link not say 14,500 people have been discharged since 1994.......Yes or no? No bull ****............That was the question you were doubting................I don't care what else it said...........you lose..........

Show me where I ever doubted that. I never did.
The only thing I ever said about it is that over a 10 year period it is not that big of a number.

BTW if "I Lose"....why are you running away from your own link?

Probably because it says exactly opposite of what your outdated beliefs say.

EXACTLY!

His own link says that young people and the soliders of today, overwhelmingly support ending DADT.

He wants to cherry pick the parts of the link that he likes and disregard the rest. :doh

You mean like the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a 4 star General? Or the Secretary of Defense who was first appointed by George W Bush? Or do you mean Colin Powell, retired U.S. Army 4 star General and Bush's Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State, also a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ... another republican? Do you mean those kinds of bleeding heart liberals?

Let's see if I understand this. If DADT is rightly repealed it would mean that more qualified military persons would be able to remain in the military. And since they wouldn't need to be replaced the military would actually need less new personnel. So, only if DADT remains law would there be a need for the draft.

Got that Navy?

With the push for overturning DADT gaining momentum and the support of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Michael Mullen, conservative fearmongering about the potential effects of repeal have gone into overdrive with suggestions that the policy change would “mortally” damage the all-volunteer military. During a hearing with Mullen and Defense Secretary Robert Gates today, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) warned that allowing “the presence in the armed forces of persons who demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts” would pave the way for allowing “alcohol use, adultery, fraternization, and body art” in the military. On CNN today, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins suggested it could lead to the re-institution of the draft:

PERKINS: Let’s go back to the Military Times in 2008 had a poll of active duty military members. Fifty-eight percent said they were opposed to overturning this policy. And many have said that this will cause them to reconsider whether or not they will stay in the military. And it will have an impact upon recruiting. I mean this is an issue of retention and recruitment for the military and it ultimately could lead back to the imposition of a draft in order to fill the numbers and quotas in the military.

Perkins’ draft claim was echoed in a statement today by Rabbi Yehuda Levin of the Rabbinical Alliance of America, who also suggested that repealing DADT could cause earthquakes and other natural disasters. Watch it: [on the link below]

More fear mongering from the fear mongering party.

I did not mean to upset you lefties so much but it would almost be fun to see DADT repealed and watch you draft eligible people whine.....No I can't do that to my shipmates....Damn!!!

Keep telling yourself that...I just hope your draft eligible.......:rofl

No one wants a draft, least of all the people who run the military. They have a hard enough time finding suitable candidates among those who volunteer.

Besides, if suddenly a large contingent of military personnel were to quit because of their aversions to adultery and body art (honestly, some of these statements are just silly) they could just be "stop lossed," couldn't they?

Seriously, no one does a better job of making young men and women forget their differences and depend on each other than the military. No one will care about the sexual preferences of the guy in the next bunk so long as they can count on him shooting the guy shooting at them.

Navy....you are flopping all over the place. Sometimes I feel really bad.
Shooting down your arguments is like shooting fish in a barrel.
But you just make it so easy. :doh
