I think it's rather telling that Bush's poll numbers seemed to carry more weight with a lot of the left when his approval numbers went down. How many times did I see liberals calling Bush supporters "28 percenters" or "dead enders"? Funny how polls suddenly don't seem to matter as much when it's your ox being gored.

I find it funny that you take Poll with a straight face. Hell during bush term, I never took polls with a straight face. I always take them with a grain of slat.

People are claiming that Obama is a failure and using his approval rating as evidence.

Fine, then that same method must be able to be used for all other presidents.

If it can not be used to say Reagan was a failure then it can not be used for Obama.. fair is fair.

What's the approval rating for congress? I would guess about 15%.

No, I say the Messiah is a failure and use the failed economy and his other failures as evidence.

Reagan was a success because he had the right ideas and implemented them.

The Messiah doesn't have any ideas, he's a community organizer, not a leader of men. His presidency is going to be the failure all his promises told us it was going to be.

Reagan promised 4 things:

1. Cut taxes. He did; closed loopholes and brought the highest rate from 70% to 28%

2. Reduce burdens on the people (regulations). He did. Note one of his first orders was to eliminate oil price controls. What happened? No more oil hysteria. Prices went down.

3. Strengthen the Military. Put the Evil Empire into a race it... lost. Had a vision to defend the nation with a protective shield. It works... even though people thought he was nuts.

4. Cut Spending/deficits. Democrats controlled congress and kept spending... as government revenues soared due to lower unemployement, investment, competition for jobs. As JFK noted... a rising tide lifts all boats.

5. All with the goal of an American Renaissance, and focus on our security.

4 of 5 is pretty good.

If Bushes were so low, and Obamas are so low, maybe everyone should just WISEN UP?

It's ironic that people even think polling matters. Maybe that poll was done in rural alabama in a republican majority district. Polling is meant to display what the establishment wants public opinion to be.

I don't support Obama. He isn't LIBERAL ENOUGH. ever though about that?

The kool aid was about the horrors of organized religion. I am a deist and I believe that there are too many charlatans in organized religion.

You are talking short term results for Reagan's voodoo economics. Look at what it has led to. The biggest redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the filthy rich.

Yeah, he cut taxes. That's why we have become a debtor nation, sub servant to Communist China. I thought conservatives were against communism. It's ironic that Nixon, the commie fighter, opened this can of worms.

Hmm....so you believe that people who earn their own money are creating greed and class discrimination if they hold the truly bizarre expectation that they should be allowed to keep it for themselves....

Being older and obviously wiser, I adhere to the tried and true process that "I earned it, it's mine, bugger off" school of reality.

Oh, I think we slobber over these polls to highlight how the Left now makes excuses for their negative numbers and must always deflect to a Reagan/Bush defense.

Most Republicans don't want any President to govern by polls, what we find humorous is that the Left no longer thinks a President should govern by poll numbers either. Maybe we are more alike than we like to admit.
