Obama's Approval Rating Dips to New Low

Re: Obama sets a new low

Hmm....so you believe that people who earn their own money are creating greed and class discrimination if they hold the truly bizarre expectation that they should be allowed to keep it for themselves....

weird, wrong, but perfectly in-line with the lack of thought, emotion based left wing political mantras the more ignorant people follow these days.

Being older and obviously wiser, I adhere to the tried and true process that "I earned it, it's mine, bugger off" school of reality.

Yeah I guess you would prefer a government like Haiti where it's survival of the fittest. That's about on par with a wing nut social Darwinist.

Btw, I am an old fart too. I am 68. How old are you? Tell me true.

Now matter how low Obama's rating go they will never sink as low as the public opinion polls of Congress.

Well, he's only been in office for slightly more than a year. Give him time, it's early yet.

Re: Obama sets a new low

We told the libs, but they voted for him anyway.

Am I supposed to regret voting for him because of his rating?

No of course not. You're supposed to regret voting for him because he's a lousy President but a great teleprompter reader.

LOL Okay.

Your all's obsession with the teleprompter is pathetic.

LOL. I agree with you on the teleprompter thing. But now, let's get real. Are you, as a Liberal, satisfied with Obama's performance so far? When he campaigned, he made a lot of promises. He hasn't kept them. So his numbers are going to be low for several reasons:

1) Conservatives, like myself, who have an honest disagreement with him on which way the nation should go. He may win over a very few, but not likely, due to ideological differences.

2) The looneys on my side of the fence, who hate Obama for the sake of hating Obama, and would give him bad grades, even if he had won the battle against cancer single-handedly.

3) The looneys on your side of the fence, who see Obama as a traitor.

4) Liberals, like yourself, who see Obama as not fighting hard enough for them, after all the promises he made.

5) Independents, who are confused by all the mixed messages this administration has been sending.

Put it all together, and Obama's ratings have nowhere to go but down. If Obama doesn't get his act together soon, and start being consistant on something (and I mean on ANYTHING), he may end up with Bush-like numbers before his first term is over.

I am more unhappy with congress than Obama. Both the Democrats and Republicans are playing too many games right now because it is election year. It is amazing that many of the republicans who fought against the Stimulus package are taken credit for ground breaking projects that it is creating. Obama is really trying hard to get things going but no Republican is going to work with him right now if they value their job. And the Democrats are a bunch of cowards. Hell, even we are caught up in this crap.

I am so sick of the back and forth from both parties because there are people who really need help right now and nothing is getting done by either side. Do Obama deserve some of the blame...yes. But you can not sit here and say that the republicans really have our best interest in mind right now and Obama is the evil dictator who wants to destroy this country.

I am reading this from my cellphone. Dan, I'll respond later. I am not surprised his numbers are worsening. I think he has done "okay."

NEW FLASH:
Low poll rating doesn't mean anything towards proving that all that crap some people said about Obama was true or false. For all the partisans out there let me say that if you talk like lower poll numbers prove exactly what you've been saying about Obama, then you've got to agree that low poll numbers prove exactly what everyone was saying about Bush just a few years ago. :doh

At least he is not a palm reader like sarah palin.:)

Maybe we're stuck in the rut that was 8 years of whinging about low poll ratings for GW Bush. What applies then should apply now, unless something drastic has changed.

What's changed?

Re: Obama sets a new low

So that means Reagan was a failure too since he had similar ratings at this point. And Bush Jr, was a failure in his second term since at this point in his second term he was under Obama's level.. nice too know.
Obama's in his second term?

So as I stated yesterday, I think he has done an okay job. I was feeling very blah about him until I saw his performance with the Republicans in Baltimore. He clearly knew what he was talking about. I also genuinely liked his performance the State of the Union. I would just like to see him provide a better explanation for why he is doing certain things and NOT doing certain things. I think he should be showing up at the press corps more frequently and allowing them to ask questions.

Yes, he has not kept all the promises he made but (1) what president/elected official has? and (2) He's been in office for little over a year. If he didn't keep his promises by the end of his term, then I would conclude he did not keep his promises.

Re: Obama sets a new low

Or Feinstein... but he can't do without the teleprompter.
Reagan couldnt do without a teleprompter. Bush couldnt do with one or written notes. In other news those who were trying to compare Palin's favorability rating to Obama's job approval rating will be relieved to hear Palin is on the rebound and her favorability rating has dropped to 37 percent
