Palin says Obama should boycott Copenhagen over hacked e-mails

Nope you just ignored the numbers and hero worshipped Palin then scutted off.

Nope. That's just your imagination eclipsing your honesty again.

:kitty: :kitty: :kitty:

Besides, this is a completely different thread. If you weren't so intent on melting down for us, you would at least attempt to stay on topic in this thread.

You wouldnt know honesty if it climbed up to your lap and gave you a handjob. You were wrong in that thread much like you're wrong now. In that thread you lost sanity and just kept celebrating and then nanced away. I responded to poll numbers someone cited which were inaccurate. Tell me which part of your rant about Reverand Wright in this thread was on topic and not a "meltdown" as you keep claiming?

I don't really see how any of this addresses this thread topic. I find you a little bothersome when you are melting down and staying on topic with your tantrum. I find it much more difficult to overlook your intellectual shortcomings when you are just randomly trolling threads like this and doing nothing to address the topic.

You should look a little farther than a source that meets your pre-conceptions.

From an article at the National Catholic Reporter:

Palin was briefly touted as the first Pentecostal to run on a major party ticket. A spokesperson, however, told the Associated Press yesterday that although the 44-year-old mother of five grew up in the Assemblies of God, the largest organized Pentecostal denomination in the world with an estimated 57 million members, she does not consider herself a "Pentecostal."

Her primary place of worship in Juneau, Alaska's capital, is said to be the "Church on the Rock," an independent congregational founded in January 2000. Palin's spokeperson, however, said the governor also attends different churches.

The initial confusion surrounding Palin's denominational identity, therefore, has a simple explanation: She doesn't have one.

Instead, Palin appears to be part of that rapidly expanding galaxy of "post-denominational" Christianity, where elements of Evangelical and Pentecostal styles of faith and worship fuse into a myriad of unique local combinations, and where old denominational loyalties are essentially dead.

WikiAnswers - What church denomination is Sarah Palin

Wasilla Bible Church, however, is having an extraordinary week. On Sunday, its senior pastor Larry Kroons confirmed that Senator John McCain's vice presidential pick, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and her family, regularly attend services there, and have done so for the last six years or so. "They attend here as Sarah and Todd in the presence of God, honoring God as God," he said before he began his sermon. The Palins' new baby, Trig, was "dedicated" at the church two weeks ago, another pastor told NEWSWEEK. (Many conservative churches do "dedications" of infants instead of baptisms-postponing the baptism ceremony until the child is old enough to make a conscious decision for Christ. At a dedication, the parents and the pastor ask for the congregation's help in raising the child.)

I guess it just depends on where she is on Sunday.

Hatuey didn't say she was a strict adherent of anything, what he said is that she's an evangelical. And, so she is.

I'm not familiar with the fine points of evangelical protestants. Does 'doomsday' automatically mean the fringe 'rapture' beliefs?

BTW, what was the deal with her comment about Jews gathering in the days and weeks ahead in Israel? Why would the Jews be gathering in Israel?

Uhhhhhhh....... it's Sunday, and that's where they live? :2wave:

I'm sure Cheney had one too when he looked at these numbers

Naaaaa.... he's not due for a new stent for at least another 3 years.

I was directly on topic using an illustration to rebutt a point made during the course of discussing the topic.

You, however, keep mindlessly trolling this thread looking for some vindication for your trolling through discussing me.

Your meltdown continues.

:ssst:

Freudian slip?

Ummm, because it's Israel...homeland of the Jews? And it's what they've been doing since Israel was founded.

Just a guess.

Uhhhhhhh....... it's Sunday, and that's where they live? :2wave:

What does Sunday have to do with being Jewish? And, 'they' live everywhere .... however, she said the Jews would be gathering in Israel in the weeks and months ahead in response to a question about continuing building settlements.

Sarah Palin says she disagrees with the Obama administration's demand that Israel halt settlement construction, although her reason for that opinion is puzzling (or at the least demonstrates she's not familiar with the term "natural growth" that much of the debate has revolved around). She tells Barbara Walters that she disagrees with the White House because all the Jews moving to Israel need a place to live. From ABC News:

I disagree with the Obama administration on that," Palin told Walters. "I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is, is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don't think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand.

J Street responded by releasing a lengthy statement which condemned Palin's comments and accused her of pandering and ignorance. An excerpt:

J Street rejects Sarah Palin’s comments attacking President Obama’s sensible policy on Israeli settlements in the West Bank yesterday during an ABC News interview with Barbara Walters.

Palin’s pandering to her right-wing base comes at the expense of the security of the State of Israel, the lives of those actually living the conflict, and the fundamental American interest in achieving a two-state solution in the near term. Her words reveal a glaring ignorance of damaging facts and a callous disregard of past and present U.S. policy.

Got it.....I apologize then.

However, should Palin also decry some of the more extreme teachings of evangelicals?

Why? She's not a theologian. She's not responsible for decrying other people's religious beliefs.

I don't see any evidence she is an Evangelical. I see evidence she has attended a few Evangelical churches.

Just like there was no evidence Obama was a "black liberation" theology adherent. He just attended a black liberation theology church.

Palin attended evangelical churches for decades. Why is it wrong to call her an evangelical? Unlike the Catholic Church, where you actually have to be baptised a Catholic, I'm not aware of anything similar in Protestant churches. You are baptized a Christian, and you 'are' whatever denomination you choose to worship as.

I don't understand why Palin would choose to attend a Pentecostal church if she wasn't Pentecostal, though?

And, btw, Barack Obama's church was a mainline protestant church. You, as a Catholic, are not responsible for the rantings of a Catholic priest (and they are legion), neither is Barack Obama responsible for the rantings of Rev Wright.

Which means he SHOULD'VE been responsible and walked out ;)

If you say so. I never understood the whole 'church shopping' debate. But, I grew up Catholic - you went to the Catholic Church in town, regardless of how bat**** crazy the priests were (and some of them were very crazy). The Lutheran, or Episcopalian Churches, or any of the others were just not an option.

Forunately, Palin is not in any position to influence US foreign policies, but unforunately, her ignorant blathering is given a lot of attention.

Ok...Jall...you really need to get rid of those Hello Kitty's....they're creeping me out a little.

You need to find a little picture of Stich!.....

It's a good thing yours isn't.

well, let's see. what we DO know of her beliefs are consistent with evangelical doctrine, and she attends evangelical churches. she's been exorcised.

Is this chick for real? What scares me is that people actually listen to her.

What scares me is that people turn a blind eye to this ponzi scheme that is AGW

The Emperor not only has no clothes, she's an empty-headed twit to boot.

Uhm Palin as far as I can tell didn't win, nor did McCain die... Your analogy fails. You should choose more intelligent discourse before calling people twits. Just sayin....

Why? She's not a theologian. She's not responsible for decrying other people's religious beliefs.

I'm not saying that she should....but those who are the loudest about Obama's involvement with Wright's church...tend to want to give Palin a pass on the teachings of her right-wing churches.

Palin has her own pastor problems...

Back in the fall of 2005, when Palin was running for governor of Alaska, a Kenyan pastor named Thomas Muthee preached several times at Wasilla Assembly of God, Palin's church home for more than two decades. In one service, Palin joined Moothy onstage while he prayed for her.

"We say grace to be reigned upon her in the name of Jesus," Muthee prayed while Palin bowed her head. "We are asking you as the body of Christ in this valley make a way for Sarah even in the political arena . . . Bring finances her way even for the campaign in the name of Jesus . . . Give her men and women who will buck her up in the name of Jesus . . . Oh, Father, use her to turn this nation the other way around . . . "

So far, not that unusual. Intercessory public prayer is a common and often powerful form of encouragement and blessing in evangelical or Pentecostal settings, for politicians or anyone else. But Muthee goes on: "In the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, every form of witchcraft is what you rebuke. In the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, father make away now."

Turns out, Muthee began his ministry with a witch hunt against a Kenyan woman he accused of causing car accidents through demonic spells, according to the Christian Science Monitor, which first reported the story in 1999. Muthee publicly declared the woman "a witch responsible for the town's ills, and order her to offer her up her soul for salvation or leave Kiambu . . . The woman fled."

What folks like yourself are missing here is the fact that there are two seperate arguments, or issues, at work here. One is the data/facts. The other is the hype of dire predictions formulated by the research findings.

Palin is essentially targetting the hype when she criticizes the hacked emails. Al Gore responds to her statements by bringing up the melting ice sheets (fact). She never questioned the current state of the planet. And when he did speak about the emails, he mischaracterized them.

It is fact there are changes in the metrix. But there is no proof of pending doom that will eclipse anything man has faced thus far.
