Palin says Obama should boycott Copenhagen over hacked e-mails

I find it odd when an Evangelical says something like 'doomsday scare tactics'. Maybe I'm alone.

Any evidence that she is a Rapture Evangelical?

Actually, any evidence she's an Evangelical period?

I do so hope she gets the Republican nomination

Are you sure???

Obama's new Gallup Poll job approval number is 47%. Last month it was 53%.

Regular Ticket readers will recall how in this space in late November we pointed out that Obama's closely watched job approval slide was coinciding with Palin's little-noticed rise in favorability. And it appeared they might cross somewhere in the 40s.

Well, ex-Sen. Obama, meet ex-Gov. Palin.

The new CNN/Opinion Research Poll shows Palin now at 46% favorable, just one point below her fellow basketball fan.

(The same poll, btw, has bad news for Dick Cheney-haters; the outspoken former VP has climbed out of the 29% basement, back up to 39% now. How do you suppose he's done that without a new book? But that's another story.)

I talk about her only to reinforce to those in the center or independents what she represents.

She represents, IMHO, everything that is wrong with this country -- hyper-partisanship, lack of critical thinking abilities, 2nd rate education, no basic understanding of public policy and economics... I could go on.

Palin and W. are the not-so-bright politicians who are easily manipulated by the power-brokers in their own party...

I enjoy folksy shopkeepers in small towns. But I don't want "folksy" running this country.

Yeah, since the un-folksy folks have done such a great job! The current crop of un-folksy folks are doing a bang up job of ****ing the royal dog.

I think folks like you represent what's wrong with this country when you say that only a certain class of people should be allowed to participate in public service.

Of course, she's a white Christian Republican. That's evidence enough for some folks.

So she attends several Evangelical Church's in Alaska. I attend several Catholic Churches. My point? Just because she attends those churches doesn't mean she is a strict adherent to their idealogies.

I mean, when Obama attended Wright's church for twenty years you Obamaphiles said that didn't mean he was all into Wright's America bashing Black Liberation idealogy, right?

So how come when Palin attends a church she's suddenly some doomsday evangelical?

Gotta love that liberal application of the double standard.

I agree with you here Jall...but weren't you one of the ones who was decrying Obama's involvement with Wright? If so...isn't that a double standard as well?

If not.....my apologies...but I seem to recall you condemning Obama in the past for his attending Wright's church. If I'm wrong...let me know.

Hatuey didn't say she was a strict adherent of anything, what he said is that she's an evangelical. And, so she is.

I'm not familiar with the fine points of evangelical protestants. Does 'doomsday' automatically mean the fringe 'rapture' beliefs?

BTW, what was the deal with her comment about Jews gathering in the days and weeks ahead in Israel? Why would the Jews be gathering in Israel?

Belief in the rapture is hardly in the fringe.

I think the more amazing part is where is say's Cheney is at 39%.....Even he's starting to catch up on Obama

Yep, Obama is dropping while Palin and Cheney are rising. The libs must be having a heart attack.

I'm sure Cheney had one too when he looked at these numbers

I didnt decry his attendance at a church. I decried his failure to condemn specific statements by Wright.

There is a difference. I don't condemn fellow Catholics for being Catholic. But I am one of the first you will hear slamming our current pope for being an ignorant jackhole.

Ummm, because it's Israel...homeland of the Jews? And it's what they've been doing since Israel was founded.

Just a guess.

Got it.....I apologize then.

However, should Palin also decry some of the more extreme teachings of evangelicals?

If you can point me to where she has been present during something I would find objectionable that she didn't object to, sure. But it needs to amount to 20 years worth of listening to it to come close to what Obama turned a blind eye to.

I don't see any evidence she is an Evangelical. I see evidence she has attended a few Evangelical churches.

Just like there was no evidence Obama was a "black liberation" theology adherent. He just attended a black liberation theology church.

Your evidence is a lie-

Transcript: TIME's interview with Sarah Palin

What's your religion?

Christian.

Any particular...?

No. Bible-believing Christian.

What church do you attend?

A non-denominational Bible church. I was baptized Catholic as a newborn and then my family started going to non-denominational churches throughout our life.

Once again the latimes is using two separate ratings and trying to make a comparison using Obama's job approval rating to Palin's favorability rating. Youre talking apples and oranges. Now if you compared apples to apples you have Obamas favorability rating, depending on the polling outfit at 52 to 58 percent. Dick Cheney is also 53 percent unfavorable while Palin is at 46 unfavorable. Obamas unfavorables range from 38 to around 44 still a higher net than Palin or Cheney. Palin's numbers are worse than they were last year. So Palin and Obamas numbers have gone down.

:rofl One year ago Cheney was sitting at 13% now it's 39%....He's picking up alot of steam for 2012.

Even drug addicts who hit rock bottom have nowhere to go but up. Again now youre making the same mistake the latimes is making. You're talking about Cheney's job approval rating and not his favorability rating. Those are two separate things. You're using the 13 percent that was from his job approval rating and comparing it to the 39 percent favorability rating when you're talking two separate things. If you compare his historical favorability ratings you will see that its stayed pretty consistent.
