So many new developments: which story do we pick? Maybe best to summarise, instead. After all, it’s not like you’re going to find much of this reported in the MSM.
1. Australia’s Senate rejects Emissions Trading Scheme for a second time. Or: so turkeys don’t vote Christmas. Expect to see a lot more of this: politicians starting to become aware their party’s position on AGW is completely out of kilter with the public mood and economic reality. Kevin Rudd’s Emissions Trading Scheme – what Andrew Bolt calls “a $114 billion green tax on everything” – would have wreaked havoc on the coal-dependent Australian economy. That’s why several opposition Liberal frontbenchers resigned rather than vote with the Government on ETS; why Liberal leader Malcolm Turnbull lost his job; and why the Senate voted down the ETS.
2. Danes caught fiddling their carbon credits. (Hat tip: Philip Stott) Carbon trading is the Emperor’s New Clothes of international finance. It was invented by none other than Ken Lay, whose Enron would currently be one of the prime beneficiaries in the global alternative energy market, if it hadn’t been shown to be (nearly) as fraudulent as the current AGW scam. It is a licence to fleece, cheat and rob. Still, jolly embarrassing for the Danes to get caught red handed, what with their hosting a conference shortly in which the world’s leaders will try, straight-faced, to persuade us that carbon emissions trading is the only viable way of defeating ManBearPig.
They ought to find the group who broke into the UAE system, and give them all Nobel Prizes for Science. These guys did more for science without degrees than the guys who fudged the data.

Careful - the AGW zealots take considerable exception to people questioning their religion.

The problem with all of this is it isn't being reported in any meaningful way on the standard mainstream media.

Yet BO plans to proceed... absolute PROOF that he KNOWS his mindless followers are clueless, their silence is PROOF that they are.

Silent yes, clueless....I don't think so. I think they know exactly what they are doing. This is less about science and more about ideological purity of thought.

......White House press secretary Robert Gibbs responded to a question about ClimateGate by insisting that "global warming is happening" and that for most people it isn't really a question anymore. That is the same message viewers get from the network news about climate change.

An examination of morning and evening news programs on ABC, CBS and NBC since Nov. 20 yielded zero mentions of the scandal, even in the Nov. 25 reports about Obama going to Copenhagen to discuss the need for emissions reductions. But during the same time period, the networks reported on pro-golfer Tiger Woods' "minor" car accident at least 37 times. They also found time to report on an orphaned Moose and the meal selection at the president's State Dinner.......

:wow:
So you, don't support the fact they are criminals. I'd bet you don't care that the stole personal property, and in fact could change anything they wanted to to support their theory. The hackers deserved to be put in prison were they belong for do something ILLEGAL.

I find this a tertiary issue at best. The damage this could possibly do to science is sobering to say the least.

Operation Dark Out. All the people of the US must turn their TV off till a trustworthy news source takes hold. Stop feeding the beast and it just goes away one way or the other.

I think that's happening now.

WASHINGTON — Public trust in the US media is eroding and increasing numbers of Americans believe news coverage is inaccurate and biased, according to a study released on Monday.

Just 29 percent of the 1,506 adults surveyed by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press between July 22-26 said news organizations generally get the facts straight.

Sixty-three percent said news stories are often inaccurate, up from 34 percent in a 1985 study, Pew said.

Sixty percent of those polled said the press is biased, up from 45 percent in 1985. Just 26 percent in the latest survey said that news organizations are careful their reporting is not politically biased.

Seventy-four percent said news organizations tend to favor one side in dealing with political and social issues. Eighteen percent said they deal fairly with all sides.

Pew said Republicans tend to be more critical of the news media than Democrats although negative attitudes toward the news media were also increasing among Democrats.

Fifty-nine percent of those who identified themselves as Democrats said news organizations are often inaccurate, up from 43 percent just two years ago......

:rofl

So you think this is fake? The damage to science is nothing, but a bleep on the radar. I still believe in Science, I am still suprised that the right aren't all over these hackers for doing something Illegal.

It against the freaking law to hack into computers. Remember that guy who hacked into Nasa he got life in prison

If you don believe me go ask the son of the decorate who hacked Sarah Plain emails. Go to this website for more information about hacking laws.

Who here has argued that that they did want not illegal, and/or they shudl not be punished?

Asoide from that, any discussion of what should be done to those that hacked the info is of exceptionally small importance compared to what they uncovered; indeed, it is nothing other than an attemps to obfuscate said larger issue.

:rofl They did not uncover any "conspiracy that Globe warming" is false. The right has said left and right that they are heros ectt. They -did- uncover information that brings pause to the criticall mind.

The right has said left and right that they are heros ectt.
How does that invalidate anthing I said?

No, they don't most of the actual researchers think the the people who deny it are idtios. Climate people are the ones, I get my information from, and not

Remember when Newt Gingrich had a cell phone call recorded by a couple in Florida, I don't remember the NYT having a problem reporting on that...

What was your stance?

Without credibility the damage to science is incalculable.

It against the freaking law to hack into computers. Remember that guy who hacked into Nasa he got life in prison

There are two issues here. Which do you feel is more important in the long and short run, yet another hacking or the legislation being considered that can litterally affect the livelyhood of tens of millions of people? That very legislation is based on the work of these very scientists who wrote these e-mails. Just think about it a minute.

If you don believe me go ask the son of the decorate who hacked Sarah Plain emails. Go to this website for more information about hacking laws.

Once again, you need to concentrate on what is of the greatest importance here.

These e-mails call into question the quality of that very information.....does it not?

All this illistrates is your lack of critical thinking skills.
But then, that's expected of an AGW zealot.

'Climate-Gate' Scandal Should Be Wake-Up Call For Press, Politicians
By JOSEPH BAST
Posted 11/25/2009 06:24 PM ET

Last week, someone (probably a whistle-blower at the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, England) released e-mails and other documents written by Phil Jones, Michael Mann and other leading scientists who edit and control the content of the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The e-mails appear to show a conspiracy to falsify data and suppress academic debate in order to exaggerate the possible threat of man-made global warming.

The misconduct exposed by the e-mails is so apparent that one scientist, Tim Ball, said it marked "the death blow to climate science." Another, Patrick Michaels, told the New York Times: "This is not a smoking gun; this is a mushroom cloud."....

By that standard much of congress and many in the administration should be thrown in jail immediately.

Im all for it.

Time to get old school with it.
