They'll have the Fairness Doctrine in place by then.

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of likely voters say it is at least somewhat likely the next president of the United States will be a Republican, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

How will that be helpful to America?

LOL.....

Did the people they polled actually consider who the GOP has out there to offer?

Palin? :doh
Huckabee?:2rofll:
Jindal?:screwy

The only decent candidate the Republicans have is Romney and the right-wing is never going to stomach a mormon candidate.

Comon dude... the way Obama's screwing up, Republicans could put a squirrel named Bob on the ballot and have a shot at getting the first hibernating mammal in the Oval office without too much issue. Obama won because he's charismatic - but now people see him promise everything and deliver next to nothing while extending Bush's policies and increasing the government take over & debt.

Bob the squirrel's got the best shot so far.

2016 is an awful long way off to be guessing who will be prez after Obama's two terms.

I see you and Disney stockpiled a lot of Kool-Aid.

Disney... it's a long way to go... Jindal, Palin, Romney, Ailes... I'd happily take any of them. Who knows who else will show up.

Next time around Obama won't be able to hide behind a record of doing nothing, platitudes and Styrofoam Greek columns. He will have a record of deceivement to deal with.

A lot of people less fortunate than you and Joe... people running out of Kool-Aid... are realizing what a farce he really is... and was all along.

If he mentions Hope, Change and Unity... he'll generate more laughs than all the SNL skits combined.

Except for the hardcore Kool-Aiders, people are sobering up... not buying Edsel's BS Express anymore.

You wish....Obama will win easily against anything that the GOP has to offer.

Live your fantasy for as long as you can. The next election will likely depend on the state of the economy. Most indicators indicate that we have turned the corner. Two years from now, if the economy has improved, you guys are toast.

Not necessarily.

First off, this does not really tell us when the benchmark for "next President" would take place. This could mean 2012, with the election of a Republican. At the same time, this could also mean in 2016. A "next President" may simply mean a different body, because we do not really count two-term Presidents as two Presidents.

Second, this is a very basic lesson in electoral history. It is highly unlikely that a member of the same party will be able to extend a party's one or two-term score into a third or even fourth term. It is not surprising that people think it is "somewhat likely" that a member of the other party will become the "next President".

I would have preferred to hear that it would be a Conservative because Republicans like Lindsey Graham do a poor job of representing the type of views and policies that can pull this country back together once the Socialist/Communist influence has been placed on the scrap heap of history.
By 2010 the House should back under adult control and there will be time to stop the Draconian health bill should it pass the Senate and the totally dumb ass Cap and Trade BS fully based on a HOAX.

As to the question of what could happen under a Conservative the sky is the limit if who ever it is has some executive management experience. Right now I can think of a number of immediate changes in direction and spending that would translate into near instant benefits to most Americans and the economy.
One thing example that could help everyone would be to help the 1/8th of the economy that is in part failing because of a tiny fish the Delta Smelt. I say turn on the water for the farmers who feed us more than most know and start work on a hatchery to save the stupid fish. It just makes sense to solve problems rather than create more by thinking increased taxes is the answer for everything, when in fact they are the problem. And have never been the solution.

Who did the Dems have in 2001 to 2003?

Two years from now, if the economy has improved, you guys are toast.

Interestingly enough, there doesn't appear to be an incumbent who did not get reelected during a boom year but there are several who failed to get reelected during a recession.

July 1990 –Mar 1991 was HW. Lost
July 1981 –Nov 1982 was Carter. Lost
Aug 1929 –Mar 1933 was Hoover. Lost

There are plenty of incumbents who either inherited a recession or had one that ended well before the election who won reelection.

Declarations of who will be the next president will be now seem awfully ignorant of history and coming from someone who has done product and industry forecasts, exceptionally stupid.

58% Say Next President Likely To Be Republican

I'll bet that, one year into the previous administration, more than 58% would've predicted that the next president was likely to be Republican.

You wish....Obama will win easily against anything that the GOP has to offer.

Yeah and my Dad can beat up your dad...

Time to grow up... put down the kool-aid and step away from the keyboard.

Who do you realistically stands a chance of winning if the GOP runs them?

The next election will be focused on his massive incompetence and dithering... and that we've seen after 10-months.

Cap, Tax and spend.
The attempt at Socialist Care.
Government Motors.
Trillions wasted.
Tax increases.

LOL...

Yes... he's an economic genius.

Next time round, this guy will have to defend his actions. If we have a decent candidate, someone who will drag the press to the s**t pile Obama has made, and put their noses in it like a puppy... so they ask a few questions on par with Joe the Plumber... Obama will get his ass kicked.

By then the race card BS may have worn irritatingly thin. As you know... he and his chumps like to play it.

Krauthammer makes the very easy case why Obama will get beat.

In short... Obama is a one-off freak.

The Dems have played their last card... what do they have left? What will they do next? Run a real clown?

.

The real kool-aid drinkers are those who think they can accurately predict what the political climate will be like in 3 years.

Interesting......given how the 2004 election wasn't about massive incompetence and dithering despite much of that going on in 2002. Short term memory you seem to have.

And it's the economy, stupid.

Cap, Tax and spend.

Government Motors.
Trillions wasted.
Tax increases.

Better then borrow, borrow, borrow spend.
Did you read the 1,000+ page bill or are you just assuming it's socialist because it's easier for you to think that rather then actually learn about the subject? Where have we seen this before? Oh yes. Your tiny understanding of the tax code in the US but big talk.
I'll give you government motors, but materially, it's tiny.
Trillions waste? What makes you say that?
Tax increases are coming no matter who is in charge. Unless you think that we can pay off $50+ trillion in obligations without tax increases...

Yes... he's an economic genius.

If you bothered to check out his policies, many of them are similar, if not identical to Bush.

Huh. Imagine that. You could be honest and consistent and treat them the same. I could also ask for a pony. :rofl

Both of you are fools.

The next election will largely be determined by the economy at that time as virtually all presidential elections are. No one can reasonably judge what next year will be much less 2012. To declare that Obama will lose/win with that basic piece of knowledge is pretty insane if not exceedingly arrogant.

I agree. I've been through enough of these administrations to know there are too many variables in politics to know with any amount of certainty how voters are going to react to unknown future current events.
