In September, the Russian military carried out war games. What did they simulate? A nuclear attack on Poland: (Russia 'simulates' nuclear attack on Poland - Telegraph)

The armed forces are said to have carried out "war games" in which nuclear missiles were fired and troops practised an amphibious landing on the country's coast.

Documents obtained by Wprost, one of Poland's leading news magazines, said the exercise was carried out in conjunction with soldiers from Belarus. ...

The Russian air force practised using weapons from its nuclear arsenal, while in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, which neighbours Poland, Red Army forces stormed a "Polish" beach and attacked a gas pipeline.

These war games took place at almost the precise moment when the Obama administration double-crossed Poland by announcing that, in order to placate Vladimir Putin, it was canceling the Bush administration's plan to put anti-missile defense installations in Poland and other eastern European countries. That announcement, in turn, came just one month after Russia threatened Poland with a nuclear attack in August.

Power Line - Russia Steps Up the Pressure on Eastern Europe

Slow day on a news front?

In September Russia conducted joint military exercise with Belarus to test new joint defense system. Wow!

Red Army stormed Poland and attacked a gas pipeline? Would it be the pipeline that transports RUSSIAN gas to Europe? RED Army?

Can I have some of what Telegraph journos are smoking, please?!

Clearly, the letter to Obama the kept elites of "new European democracies", fearfull of the fact Obama is cutting their funding, failed to generate a desired result. The time has come for the kept elites to up the ante by resurrecting "The Russians are coming".

The Telegraph is a waste of paper.

Yeah, I can see that. Poland is in a tight spot and is screaming about it. But Russia is acting threateningly as well, exercising its muscle. What does Russia want? To bring the old eastern bloc under its sphere again.

And feed them? No. They are the US Trojan donkeys now, you fund them! The only territories Russia might be interested in are the territories Stalin cut off it and renamed them into Ukraine and Belarus. Even then, apart from Crimea the rest of Eastern Ukraine will cost Russia more than it's worth... :(

Well, I hope the Ukraine stays with us.

And if Ukrainians want to be with Russia? Democracy is a beatch!:2razz:

I respect that. They seem to be torn between the two.

Not really. There are effectively two Ukraines: the Western (former Polish and Romanian colonies); and the rest, usually it is refered to as "Eastern". The first one is firmly pro-US and anti-Russian; the second -- directly the opposite. And both hate each other.

As an aspect, some of West-Ukrainian territory belongs to Ruthenians who in most part share East-Ukrainian sentiments; while Central part of Ukraine likes to sit on a fence.

:)
