United nations investigator launches probe into us housing crisis

Why is this in breaking news? At best it should be News 2.0. A blog like thing with a youtube link is hardly mainstream media.

Fact, the person in question has been doing this job since 2008 all around the world. The position has been in place for a very very long time. Her job is pretty simple, namely to investigate, monitor and recommend solutions to human rights problems within her mandated area. And in this case on adequate housing. So it is basically a fact finding mission in New York to see the good and bad of the US housing market and to see if it can be improved or/and if possible human rights violations are occurring... note the possible. From this she gathers experience that she will pass on to other nations when she visits them. She has done this in many countries around the world including many western countries. Hey, who knows, maybe the New York officials might learn a thing or two from her experience.

There is nothing sinister about it, but you would not know that if you trusted the OP source would you.. Things like this is done all the time. US congressmen go on fact finding missions to other countries and we rarely hear a peep about it now do we?
Yeah yeah, bore us with your tripe. Maybe they need this in Spain, but we don't need no stinkin' UN official noseying around in our business. We have plenty of our own liberals that we elected to do that.

what due process your courts are let's make a deal. they are the biggest joke in the world.

Um no, we do have things called plea bargains but that does not negate the fact that everyone in the country is entitled to full due process rights and trial by jury unlike the tyrannical judicial system in France in which you are not entitled to a trial by a jury of your piers but a trial by old fat white men in funny whigs. Not to mention the tyrannical system of the ICC in which your citizens are now subject to in which there is no jury, hearsay evidence is admissible, unaccountable prosecutors, there is no double jeopardy clause, they have no right to a speedy trial, no right to a public trial, no right to reasonable bail, no right against self incrimination, no right to face ones accuser, no right to compel a witness for the accused to appear before the court, etc etc et al..

it is a slip of paper that your last president **** on wiped his ass with and shined his shoes with, give me a break,

Again such as? Blanket generalizations do not an argument make.

what they are entitled to and what they get are very different. justice in the US is for the rich. check the prisons and see how many rich folks are present. justice is not for the minorities either. how many white white collar crooks are in jail.

your justice system smells. plea bargains are not justice. justice is a trial and found guilty you do the time. that is not how it is in the US. do not forget at one time i was a member of your club. i know how the system works. it is faulty even on a good day.

Rich folks are less likely to commit violent crimes such as armed robbery and they are also less likely to sell drugs.

justice is not for the minorities either. how many white white collar crooks are in jail.

Quite a few actually, for example Bernie Madoff, being rich didn't save his ass, it didn't help the ENRON execs either.

Nobody is forced to make a plea bargain.

And now you're part of a club in which due process is non-existent. Good on you.

How the hell is this legal? The UN seriously needs to stay the **** out of our economic problems.

Why? Your country doesn't stay out of lives of other countries...
