(CNN) — A Democratic National Committee spokesman said Friday the GOP has "thrown in its lot with the terrorists" in criticizing the president's Nobel Peace Prize award.

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists – the Taliban and Hamas this morning – in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.

"Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize – an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride – unless of course you are the Republican Party," the statement also said. "The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore – it's an embarrassing label to claim.”

Wasnt the Nobel prize deemed trash back when Al Gore won it?

Anyway back on topic, the words terrorist and traitor have been thrown around so haphazardly its starting to become meaningless. This clown needs a good kick in the head.

I was called a traitor by the right in the last Administration so being called a terrorist by the current crop of clowns really doesnt bother me anymore.

Well, any of us who side with that terrorist-inspired Honduranean coup against that decent Zelaya guy must have terrorism in our blood. Some of us just don't appreciate the freedom-loving dictators of the world like Ahmenidjad, Chavez, Castro, Gadhafi... and wannabees like Zelaya and, gulp, Obama!

But haven't we heard for 8 years how horrible, low, dispicable, and wrong it was whenever stupid republicans pointed out that Democrats were at times saying the same thing as terrorists?

And then now they turn around and do it themselves.

Seriously, at this point I would love to see a republican ask...not accused, not state, but sipmly ask....if the DNC also believes that they TOO have thrown their lot in with terrorists and dictators then, seeing as many of the various terrorist and dictatorial regimes I believe came out in favor of Obama over McCain.

In my opinion, this part of the quote is ridiculous crap, and Woodhouse needs to grow up or shut up:

But his observations about conservatives cheering when America failed to land the Olympics and their political dogma of criticizing the President for pretty much everything under the sun ("He's trying to do too much at once! He's not doing enough right now! He's from Kenya! He wants to indoctrinate your kids into his Socialist Youth Party! He's building FEMA camps! Death panels! blahblahblahblah")...

that stuff is all spot on.
 
I don't think it was the receiving the award, as we all know it is a silly joke and represents ONLY a progressive achievement award at best .. an anti-Semite achievement award at worst IE: Carter and Yassir.

It WAS however the arrogance that allows him to accept it that is at issue with rational thinking Americans!..

I would not expect a progressive to get it.. so y'all get a pass on responding...:2wave:

Thing is the majesty of our two party system. First you can get called a terrorist by the republicans for 8 years, than when you vote them out, you can get called a terrorist by the democrats. Looks like a bi-partisan initiative to replace logic and reason with bull****.

I mean UNLESS your point is just try and support a ridiculous award given without merit to a person with no accomplishments other than narcissistic degradation the US, rather than pointing out our global contributions and accomplishments, as would be the job/perspective of a decent POTUS?

In a single word.. Obarrassing!
 
So what if in this case the republicans are. The "terrorists" think the award is a joke, so do Republicans and others on the right.


It's not like we called troops nazis, murderers, rapists, drug addicts, Or claimed we were boming innocent civillians indiscriminantly... or boasted how we gave "400k to the other side" and on and on and on.


I agree with the hajis on this particular issue that the prize is a joke. :shrug:
