What They Told Us: Reviewing Last Week’s Key Polls

You said people can't oppose it because they don't know what the final bill will include. The people opposing it are voicing their opinion and discussing their disagreement with each other and their representatives.

Do you think people should discuss it, but not voice their disapproval of parts???

Your statements are getting more desperate.

You don't read very well do you. I said it's unlikely for people to support every Healthcare bill proposed. That's all I said; I never said people can't discuss it.

The 2000 election was a testimony that the popular vote doesn't always translate to electoral votes. It is rare that any Presidential candidate even gets 51% of the vote.

The best example of this math is the 1980 election where Reagan only garnered 50.7% of the popular vote but won a landslide of 489 electoral votes to Carters 49.

Gore had a higher percentage of the popular vote in 2000 but lost the election by 5 electoral votes.

States choose the President through the electoral process; which gives smaller lower population states fair representation for those of you from Blue States relying on the Public Education system. The notion that 51% popularity polls would translate to a majority support of policies is bizarre in my opinion.

:2wave:

You failed to point out an election where a President won 51% of the popular vote and lost the electoral college. That's all I asked for; everything else was irrelevant to my request.

Obviously Obama likes a bill but is it the last bill standing yet? No. Just because Obama likes one bill doesn't mean it's the only bill. Were people polled "only on the bill Obama like?" No.

Obama likes "a bill?" What was in it? Why didn't he want any discussion on the floor, he wanted Committee work done in mere weeks, a vote in Congress by August.

Obama liked a bill that provided a single payer...correct? He's already said he would prefer a public option, correct? Must we assume the bill "he liked" included a public plan?

Can you not even admit he made a colossal error by demanding August?

His other serious errors:

Turning the first press conference into a forum on the Cambridge Police.
Allowing the race card to be played by some observers and/or participants.
Not being detailed oriented, not having knowledge of his product.
His math don't add up.

Didn't Obama vote for the stimulus? That means he supported trillions of dollars of spending.

I see you ignored all the arguments I made for the promises by the Democrats. I cannot say I am surprised by this.

What do you think is a sign of the economy improving?

The economy will be showing signs of improving by seeing POSITIVE job growth versus NEGATIVE, POSITIVE GDP growth versus NEGATIVE, and when consumer confidence is POSITIVE versus NEGATIVE.

-The housing market is doing better

Sorry dude, but this is merely wishful thinking on the part of Liberals in a desperate effort to avoid reality; that reality is that there are still vast issues in the housing market, prices continue to decline due to soft demand and as the unemployed continue NOT finding employment in an economy that hasn't created a new job since last October, they will be entering into foreclosures because they will be unable to make their payments.

In addition, there is a looming commercial real estate crisis on the horizon with many heading to foreclosure as well.

Wealth is continuing to disappear at alarming rates.

-The stock market is doing better

If you think the irrationality of the stock market is an indicator, i would like to sell you a bridge in Arizona. :rofl

-I didn't know the umeployment rate ....could be turned around in nine months but I guess you think it can happen.

I wasn't the one making the FALSE promises they would; that belongs to your guys on the Democrat side who promised fiscal responsibility, transparency in Government and the creation of 5,000,000 new high paying jobs.

-I didn't know......debt could be turned around in nine months but I guess you think it can happen.

This one is quite hysterical; debt has GONE up by $2 trillion thanks to the irresponsible fiscal policies of Obama and his nonsensical Obamanomics. This isn't about turning debt around, this is about vastly increasing the debt with not one SINGLE dialogue about how to pay for the trillions these morons have spent and now wanting to spend trillions more with a healthcare program they are lying to you arguing it will almost pay for itself.

All one need do is open their tightly closed eyes and willful denial and stop slurping the kool-aid this Administration and the media are dishing out to support the asinine policies of Liberals who obviously failed Economics and Constitutional Government 101.

NO, you said people shouldn't have an opinion on the health care bill until there is a final bill.

How can people have an opinion on Health Care Reform if there is no final bill!

So you believe that its ok for people to discuss it, but they should have no opinion on it??? How does that work??

That was not what your original false claim was. These are your exact words:

I am telling you that it is mathematically possible to get 51% of the popular vote and still not win the election.

I ignored your naive notion that a 51% popular opinion poll actually translates to votes however due to the absurdity of such a claim.

You still have failed to cite an election where someone earned 51% of the popular vote but lost the electoral college.

A. I ignored your other comments because they were irrelevant. I was talking about Health Care.

B. Stop assuming I'm a Democrat and voted for Obama.

It's good to see you admit you were wrong in your earlier post.

Or, are you playing semantics games like so many on the left like to do??

Or....Does it depend on what the meaning of "is" is???

lol, your trying so hard aren't you. You still have no substance for your claims.

Yep, my second guess was correct.

You claim that no one should have an opinion on any health care bill until its final, yet at the same time, state that its ok to have an opinion on health care.

Looks to me like you're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Show me where I'm wrong.

You still haven't quoted me on where I said no one should have an opinion on Health Care. You have as much evidence of me saying people should have no opinion on Health Care as I have evidence saying you threatened to kill Obama. Why don't you just quote me? That's all you have to do to end this.

You do like to wiggle don't you. I find many liberals do that when cornered.

Read carefully what I posted:

Way to twist my words. If you read it in context you would realize I was refering to how people could have an opinion on a final Healthcare reform bill when there is none. Your typical conservative attacks is one of the reasons Democrats did so well last November.

You're doing enough twisting for both of us.

NO, you said no one should have an opinion on healthcare reform until there is a final bill.... period.

Your partisanship is why there will be no healthcare bill or one so watered down, it won't resemble anything Obama talked about.

and.. we'll see how the governors in New Jersey and Virginia do in the next month. That should give us a read on the people's thoughts on how the Dems are doing.
