DRUDGE REPORT: WHIP COUNT: DEMS LACK THE VOTES 2009®

WHIP COUNT: DEMS LACK THE VOTES
Wed Sep 09 2009 17:03:37 ET

At least 44 more moderate Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record in opposition to the current health care bill in the House, a Hill source claims. Likewise, at least 57 liberal Members of the Democrat Caucus have gone on the record saying they will vote against a health care bill without a strong public option.

Unless multiple Democrats flip on their stated position on health care, Speaker Pelosi lacks the votes to pass a bill through the House on the strength of Democrat votes alone.

I don't think many dems think that anything is going to pass without some significant changes. I think most dems agree that something will pass though.

I said that this Morning...Sitting on the "Thrown".

Take care.

Yes, those 57 Dems do have some smarts, supporting the smartest option. Too bad that those 44 dems don't realize that this opposition to the bill are either misinformed or have some kind of special interest in not seeing any reform.

The "Special Interest" in this case,,,is the American People. :doh Those that think, produce, and WORK for a Living. :2razz:

We grow tired of being "screwed" Scott. I 'feel your pain'.:)

Give it time. Its all apart of the recovery. You have to spend in a recession and deficit spending is often used in a recession. The previous guy raised our debt 5 trillion and the tax cuts when they run out the clock in 2010 will have cost us another 2 trillion.

It's not the government screwing you, it's the private insurance companies. Plus only 39% of Americans oppose the current health care plan.

You mean the private insurers that can't be bought out of state, must support HMOs and entitlements, pay for defensive medicine, and pass along the costs of tons of mandates onto us. Yes Uncle Sam has no hand in this
