Preventative medicine is great and needed. I think there needs to be more communication between healthcare providers to end these overlapping treatments. Also, if patients can take steps other than taking medication to deal with a problem, they should be told to do so, rather than the automatic prescription machine that it appears doctors have become.

Well preventative medicine is going to end up costing more than the way we do it now. I agree we need to get on the same page as far as sharing patient test info/results. Part of the reason for a lot of med use is b/c people do not want to make lifestyle changes, they want to eat all the fast food they want, smoke, drink, and not exercise and then want someone to do something about it without them having to change any of that. There needs to be more accountability and personal responsibility.
