'We hate the United States': Secessionists rally in Texas

You haven't explained a single thing. All I've seen from you thus far is dodging legitimate questions.
Sorry, I'm debating half a dozen people at once and am sick of repeating myself. If you're really interested you can go back through the thread and read it.

Tell this to an amputee.

So now you are asserting that all amputees feel this way?

I can and I did... so you are wrong again

So essentially your retort is "nuh huh!"

Yeah, thanks but I think I'd rather have a discussion with someone who actually has stuff of substance to back up their assertions. :2wave:

I've read through the thread. The fact that you have to repeat yourself should tell you that you haven't adequately explained your position.

Gravity: Both a theory and a law. The law of gravity defines that if an object is dropped on this planet, it will fall. Gravitational theory explains how and why it does this.

Newtonian Physics: Same as above.

Evolution: Theory

Big Bang: Theory
Exactly... theory = opinion
(using her/his yardstick)

Everything in the world is opinion by your definition then.... everything.

Unless there is concrete data proving causation, this is correct.

Why is it that you love to selectively pick a single lunatic from the fringe and then make broad generalizations for all Christians which cannot be supported by any facts?

Many times, I find it hard to tell your comments from the typical conspiracy lunatics out there.

Come on TD. People quite often use an extreme example from the fringe of the side that they don't agree with. This certainly isn't new territory.

Exactly... theory = opinion

So you didn't even bother to read and comprehend my post other than to notice that I changed opinion to theory. :doh

Using your yardstick:

Gravity: Opinion
Newtonian Physics: Opinion
Evolution: Opinion
Big Bang: Opinion

The list goes on.

Again, you are confusing verifiable data with opinion, things that are subjective. Gravity is objective. Happiness is subjective. An apple falls downwards no matter what. Eating an apple makes some folks happy, and others not. Do you see the difference, yet?

You're confusing theory with verifiable data. An apple falls from the tree, but why that happens is "opinion" as you all are defining it.

Depends on the psychologist. ;)

Taylor, please give us your definition of "regular people." When you're done with that, please explain how you "know that they [liberals] don't like america as much as regular people." Finally, please identify the scientific apparatus used to verifiably determine how much someone loves their country.

Thanks.

Still nothin'?

Nahh you just rationalized your happiness because you think that you are happy.

I'm sure there are many depressed people out there who thought they were happy just prior to the fall as well. Thought does have power, but thinking you are happy, and being happy are not the same entity.

And again we have the matter of happiness being subjective.. what a Tibetan monk considers happiness is not the same as what a wall street exec. considers happiness, which is not the same as what preacher considers happiness, which is not the same as what a jungle dwelling Amazon native considers happiness.

So what is happiness, and why isnt this thread in the religion and philosophy forum :2razz:

When the water is right up to your chin, you think it's best to dig a little deeper?

So if I'm not happy in the way you think I should be, I'm not really happy even though I think I'm happy?

(here, use my shovel... it's called logic, maybe you can fill in that hole a bit)

I never bashed conservatives. You're the one making outrageous generalizations about a group of people.
I did not mean you personally, interpret as "one can bash conservatives all they wish"

You're confusing theory with verifiable data. An apple falls from the tree, but why that happens is "opinion" as you all are defining it.

Not at all. Folks have been very clear on the difference. What seems to be happening is that you do not like the fact that folks have shown that your position is OPINION. There is a difference. I've shown it. Others have shown it. There is a difference between objective facts and subjective perception.

Only if they are attempting to demagogue an issue or confuse hyperbole with facts.

Thanks for helping to illustrate it so well. :2wave:

I think we'd all appreciate it if you would try to be more articulate in the future.

Oh wait, that's something you'd say.

The periodic table of the elements: Opinion

That may be, but I'm just saying that a lot of people do it.

So now we are resorting to this, huh?

So now you are asserting that all amputees feel this way?

Ever hear of phantom pain?

Phantom pain sensations are described as perceptions that an individual experiences relating to a limb or an organ that is not physically part of the body.

Sounds pretty subjective to me.
So essentially your retort is "nuh huh!"

Yeah, thanks but I think I'd rather have a discussion with someone who actually has stuff of substance to back up their assertions. :2wave:

Too verbose... a simple you win would have been sufficient. :2wave:

Yeah, okay. Definitely not worth my time. Have fun with yourself. :2wave:

Keep telling yourself that you've won, though.

Libs are incapable of admitting they are wrong.... that's just an opinion, backed up by years of experiance.

Not at all. Folks have been very clear on the difference.
Please tell me how the "Theory of Gravity" is not an opinion.

What seems to be happening is that you do not like the fact that folks have shown that your position is OPINION.
As I've made abundantly clear and you fail to comprehend... I have no problem with OPINION, especially with how you all define it.
