For the Left, war without Bush is not war at all

The war in Iraq, yes. We are drawing down (slowly) in Iraq. That to me is "going better".

Granted if you want to go by the metric of "how many google links" there are....

There were 431 million hits for Anti War Protests 2008. More than a 4:1 jump from the time leading up to election to the point after the election.

This week ABC News anchorman Charles Gibson, who extensively covered anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan's demonstrations against George W. Bush in 2005, said "Enough already" when it comes to Sheehan's plans to protest next week at Martha's Vineyard, where President Barack Obama will be vacationing.

Now Sheehan has responded. "I am sure that he just wants me to go away like most of the rest of the anti-war movement has done under the Obama presidency," Sheehan writes at her website.

One of the things I hear quite often from people from all over the political spectrum is: “Why don’t you just go away, you’ve had your 15 minutes of fame.”

She's not a nut. She's a mother that lost her only child in Iraq and has been used by the Left Wing smear mchine for political purposes. Now that the Libbos got their boy in the the White House, they're ready to throw Cindy under the bus. Personally, I feel sorry for her and always have.

I feel sorry for her more for the way she was used by the Libbos. I knew they were going to toss her aside when she outlived her usefulness.

Most "libbos" never much cared for her I don't think. Those that did certainly did not use her, she made an ass of herself by her own actions and choices.

I dunno about all that. I recall alotta Libbos, especially within the MSM, touting her as a hero and having moral authority to whatever she pleased. Maureen Dowd said that Sheehan's moral authority was absolute.

Here's what Charlie Gibson had to say about her yesterday. Sounds like he's kikcing her to the curb.

It's such a sad story. Martha Raddatz [of ABC News] wrote a terrific book about one battle that took place in Iraq, and it was the battle in which Cindy's son was killed. And you look at somebody like that and you think here's somebody who's just trying to find some meaning in her son's death. And you have to be sympathetic to her. Anybody who has given a son to this country has made an enormous sacrifice, and you have to be sympathetic. But enough already.

Anyway, this thread OP is ludicrous. For the simple reason that most of the left has never been against fighting the Taliban.

The right has often tried to portray the liberals as two faced on terror because of their opposition to Iraq and support for Palestinians. However, this is not the case as the left opposes religious tyranny and logically finds no problem in fighting the Taliban who have a direct hand in killing 3000 Americans in one day and destroying single handedly their own country in a few short years.

I felt sorry for her, but lost alotta respect for her when she got caught up in the political whirl wind; like when she went and hung out with Chavez.

I'm glad to hear it; we need legitimate leftists around. But anti-capitalism merely forms a component of ANSWER's progressivism, with anti-war activism forming another significant component.

I don't need links to prove a logical error on your part. You supplied one example, and extrapolated that this represented something more than one person. If I where to, say, provide a link of a liberal acting in a different manner, it would equally fail to prove the point.

You claimed "libbo's" used and then discarded Nancy Sheehan. To prove your point, you linked to one "libbo" doing this. This does not prove that "Libbo's" in general are doing anything. When I point this out, you tell me to prove you are wrong. Problem here is, you made the claim that us "libbo's" are doing something, so it is up to you to prove your claim.

Your dishonestly twisting peoples words is apparent to any one who reads the thread.

Before this Chavez incident did you give her the credit due and rage at the right's demonising of her as a traitor?
