Secretary of State Hillary Clinton compared Nigeria's corruption and electoral problems with the 2000 Florida presidential election recount during a town hall meeting today in Abuja, Nigeria.


Hillary implies 2000 elections were rigged, like Nigeria's.Answering a question about Nigeria's recent election, Clinton said, "In 2000, our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of the man running for President was the governor of the state. So we have our problems too."

It was a foolish statement, but this is so far from a big deal. This is minor, really minor.

She has been marginalized and is getting frustrated. This comment and blowing up at the question about what Bill thought are very telling. I would not be surprised to see her resign and start preparing the ground for a possible challenge of Prez Doofus.

I strongly disagree. The secretary of state is in a foreign country bad mouthing/embellishing the United States' political process. She needs to choose her words & accusations more carefully.

Now hold on for a moment.

For YEARS we've heard from liberals that how we're viewed around the world and how we present ourselves matters. And guess what, to a certain extent I even agree with that.

But that being said...

IF the above is true, then the Sec of State..our chief diplomat essentially...is going to other places in the world comparing events in our electoral system to a voting system where the President was having people SHOT for trying to vote, that casts a black eye on America and disparages not only our country but its history.

I'd agree if this was some idiot Senator that did it, they're a lot lower on the international politics scale of things. But this is the Sec of State.
