GW Bush did that & far worse, including "outing" a clandestine CIA operative in time of war for political retribution.
The USA Patriot act ,his many "signing statements" & the institution of state sponsored torture, took us perilously close to the Nazi regime you mention.
Get your facts straight, a low level flunky "outed" someone who, as the wife of an ambassador, was already identified as a potential agent in any case.
Not Bush.
What the fools on the left haven't even bothered to mention is that Bush wanted to enlist the cable guy, the gas and electric meter readers, the mailman, and the gardeners as informants for "suspicious" activities at any house or business they went to in the course of their daily work.
