There's nothing worth addressing in the OP, although several have debunked it on the merits. It's telling you ignored those responses....

The UDC came hat in hand asking the Senate for a favor. Biden praised those speaking against granting them this favor and the Senate told the UDC to go **** off back to where they came from and denied their request. It takes a lot of Trump sycophancy to spin that as Biden or those he praised supporting the UDC.

The rebel flag isn't actually "verboten" but if you fly it off your truck, don't be surprised most people assume you're an idiot, an asshole and a racist, because that flag (one of MANY "confederate" flags) was and is a banner embraced by racist scum everywhere. So if you don't want to be associated with racist scum, don't embrace their banner! Easy!

It really is obvious why Biden just has to select a black woman as his running mate.
That is the only way for him to win. Not to mention that he hinted he would not seek a second term if he won.
That is a boon for Progressives, Leftists, BLM fanatics, women, and those with so much white guilt they are dying to see another black president.
For the DNC, winning is everything. Forget about pandering to the black voters and black women.
Dems are tired of losing to Trump for almost four years.

And, its for naught anyway as it implies that this is a race of Trump vs. Biden. It is not. The 2020 election features the choice of Trump and Not Trump. The importance of that distinction is that there is almost nothing you can come up with, or Biden can say, that it is likely to change a Not Trump vote to a Trump vote.

I don't disagree, that most people who fly the flag in that manner are more than likely scumbags. But that's not what we're talking about here, is it?

This discussion is about Daughters of the Confederacy, and Sleepy Creepy Veepy's comments praising the organization. But for the sake of argument, there is also a movement to force Mississippi to change their flag. Why? Because it contains an image of the Confederate flag. Are white supremacists driving around flying the Mississippi flag on their trucks?

It's you who threw in the offhand comment about the "confederate" flag, not me.

And he didn't praise the organization but used a courtesy that used to be common in the Senate to use nice names for a person or persons you're about to stab in the back legislatively, while praising those who were critical of the UDC, and opposed their request for a patent renewal, which was in fact denied.

FWIW, I don't care what Mississippi does with their flag. They at least didn't do like Georgia and add the confederate flag to their state flag during the civil rights era, as a **** you to that movement. But it's also true that image is one embraced by white supremacist dirtbags everywhere and if I lived in that state I'd support removing it. To me it's like taking a swastika off your state flag that predated the Nazi era. Doesn't really matter why it was incorporated into the flag to begin with - now it's associated with racists and other deplorables. And Mississippi's record on civil rights is historically pretty lousy, so I don't know why they'd want to celebrate that image in 2020, and remind the world of that shameful past.

What makes you think without a black running mate Joe Biden can't win? He only promised to pick a woman. Amy Klobachar, a white woman, was widely believed to be at or near the top of his list for a while. His promise to appoint a black woman to the SCOTUS on national TV was good enough for most African-Americans to follow South Carolina's lead and pull away from Bernie Sanders.

This is a thread full of political opinions. That is mine.
Why would or should Biden select a black woman as is running mate? Is it because he is a Social Justice Warrior?
Or is it because gaining the vast majority of 20 million black votes is a good cushion for him to win?
Why choose an Hispanic as a running mate? After all, there are over 60 million Hispanics in this country. That's a lot more votes than the black vote. Why choose a black running mate - and a woman? What is significant about that?

Everybody has a right to their own history, right or wrong.
All statues, monuments, and flags should stay.
Freedom of speech.
