Protesters set fire at Wendy’s where fatal police shooting took place.

Damn but you are going to hate them even more. When the fail to catch and kill the two meth heads who will break into your home, tie you up and beat you until you surrender all your pin numbers and passwords, then urinate and defecate on you for the pleasure it gives them, and then do the same throughout your house that you've worked so hard on to make a home. And of course, before leaving, they'll chop holes in the walls and floors looking for hidden valuables, and you can hate those bullies even more.

Wait - no wall of text from you, cop?

Not going to regale us with tales from your glory days of being a part of the most corrupt police department in the history of this country?

Had the cop not assaulted the dude, no weapon would have landed in his black hands.

Had the perp not driven drunk and fallen asleep at the wheel none of this would have happened. How many people must be killed by drunk drivers to make you happy?

Well, look how little has changed in those 150 years and maybe you’ll understand. It’s not like whites started treating blacks with respect. But they are always happy to lock them up or see them shot by cops.

That is racist nonsense.

You hate all cops. What does the department matter?

It doesn't matter, but I think it's hilarious that a cop from the most corrupt department in the history of the country is actually talking about how great cops are.

That will never stop being funny.

"Protesters set fire at Wendy’s where fatal police shooting took place." Atlanta Journal-Constitution 06/14/2020

I'm sorry, but this is not a solution, it exacerbates the problem.

The Wendy's supervisor/manager rightly called the police regarding a problem with a customer. The police show up, and an incident occurs resulting in the death of the individual.

So what is the response? Burn down a restaurant that services the neighborhood and likely employed people from that neighborhood.

Does anyone actually think this kind of response is justified? Really?

If they are committing arson, are they protesters?

I'm sure the loss of minimum wage jobs will be devastating to the community.

But I think most people are more worried about the guy who got shot.

The guy that got shot pointed a weapon at a police officer while being arrested, good shoot, I have no cares to give for a dead criminal, white, black, or green.

You mean he pointed the cops weapon, which the cop was incompetent enough to allow a drunk person to steal.

If the cops are so bad at their jobs that they can't subdue one belligerent drunk guy without shooting him, then they don't deserve to be cops.

The Hippies of the 60s who disdain work and responsibilities

There were no hippies, a fabrication of Life Magazine.

And the counter culture was all about work, work for improving the human condition.

Fortunately, if you’re consistent about it being wrong, the race (or sex) doesn’t change anything.

Agree. But by recognizing it isn't just one race or one gender, puts a spotlight on the lawlessness and stops the stereotyping who is behind it.

We have a faction in our society that comes in all colors, genders that have absolutely no respect for lives and the property of others. And the truth is if the police will be hindered from protecting the innocent, then it is up to each individual to find a way to protect themselves, their families and property.

Agreed. It’s pretty apparent that line about not needing a gun because we can just call the police has been effectively abandoned.

I don’t disagree with much here Risky but I do have to say that, of course, DWI and resisting and evading don’t justify killing someone and nobody thinks they do. This young man was not killed as punishment for those offenses, any more than Travon Martin was killed for wearing a hoodie. It’s about what happened during the encounter and, in this one, he took a weapon from an officer. I’m not even saying this is a justified shoot, just that, the reason for the arrest/encounter is largely irrelevant to how things turn out.

Martin was not killed by a police officer. Steven Sinclair was a 12 year old boy walking home from school when a drunk driver ran a stop sign and murdered him. Steven lived in Laurelton Queens, and almost all black neighborhood. The driver who had already suffered a suspended driving license lived two blocks away and served 30 days in jail, time served while waiting for trial. He couldn't make bail or bond. Spent 45 days between arraignment and trial at Rikers Island. Steven's father killed the driver 3 months after the trial, in a local bar where the driver was bragging how he still drank and drove. Steven's father is still in prison for killing that drunk by bashing his head against a wall. His mistake was killing that dog turd in front of witnesses.

Remember your love for police when those methheads are urinating on you, and laughing.

these "counter culture" thugs are different. They grew up with everything and are bored stuff.

Being confronted by the truth doesn't bother me at all, cop.

When I hear it from you, I'll let you know.

Obviously, you are now lying. Your blood pressure is up.

I never liked sliders. Too salty and you cant taste the burger.

:lamo

I gotta say I am laughing my ass off reading this thread. Because on one hand there is this deep hard hitting conversation about the shooting incident and riots, and then on the other there is you and Bodi and others having a conversation about square burgers and sliders. The only relation is Wendy's. The weird thing is, the thread sort of flows. Definitely interesting. I thought I would point out an entertaining lighter aspect of this thread.

By the way if you are talking Kystals sliders you're right they're nasty. If your talking a pub style slider, then two are a meal and quite good. Sliders are like any other sandwich except in a smaller portion. Thats what they are supposed to be anyhow.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

No, he's dead. Committed suicide. He had been trying to kill himself with alcohol poisoning when he was pulled from that car. He succeeded a few weeks later by downing 3 large jars of aspirin and two quarts of cheap bourbon. There's more to the tragedy, but you hate police so why should you care?

How much time did the father get, out of morbid curiosity?
