The jaw-dropping admission came during a contentious hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee,...


The revelation was just one of several bombshells the former deputy attorney general delivered before the committee.

...admitting that he himself was significantly in the dark about the F.B.I.'s early Russian investigations.

F.B.I. Deputy Director Andrew McCabe “was not fully candid with me” regarding bureau proceedings.
He also told the committee he was unaware that an F.B.I. field office had recommended that Gen. Michael Flynn be dropped from the investigation.

Rosenstein was asked by Graham if he knew that "in January of 2017, the F.B.I. field office said, 'we recommend General Flynn be removed'" from the F.B.I.'s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

"I did not," Rosenstein responded.

"Would that have mattered?" Graham asked, to which Rosenstein responded: "Yes."

Rosenstein's testimony is available in its entirety on C-SPAN. It's certainly worth having a look at. He sure seems to think that a few FBI people were going to a lot of effort to keep a lot of information out of his hands.

Personally, I think Rosenstein was playing the "don't tell me anything I don't need to know" game while he was acting AG but if this testimony was a preview of coming attractions it might be a good idea to stock up on popcorn.

If there are indictments coming from Trump's side it will be because there is clear and convincing evidence of crimes, not because Schiff said so or because the FBI chose sides in a political campaign.

I don't listen to Schiff, and I don't believe CTs about our intelligence services. And Trump's batting .000

I can't think of one thing Trump has ever said that came true. Lol. Or anything that was true. Not one. Can you think of any?

The crew over at "conservative treehouse" are already making up their excuses for the "nothing burger" that will come out of these "investigations". They'll blame it on the "deep state", which is a claim that everyone, senate Republicans included, are all on a "coverup" to destroy America's number 1 victim, Donald J. Trump.

Typically moronic. If there wasn't any evidence (collusion wasn't being investigated. "Links and/or coordination with Russia" was, and any criminal statutes it might fall under), Mueller would not have written that every element was there except for an explicit agreement.

He would not have said Trump was NOT exonerated on the 14+ instances of obstruction of justice, then explain he could not indict Trump, then explain that if he could not indict Trump he would not say he was guilty.

There will definitely be an "October surprise", but I don't think the partisan investigations are going to help Trump, but hurt him.

Independents are watching, and they aren't liking what they are seeing. Trump and the GOP are desperately trying to revive the playbook from 2016, not realizing the political environment is vastly different in 2020, and what worked four years ago will likely not work this time around.

Trump is failing spectacularly. I seriously wonder whether he's deliberately trying to lose. Maybe Ivanka wants him to lose and tells Jared to think of huge blunders for daddy to engage in. I dunno. What I do know is we have a former president and a presidential candidate sounding very different than Trump. The entire nation sees it. A couple hundred hair-cut wannabe gang bangers vs an entire nation of diverse citizens. Trump is failing hugely.
