Over the past 72 hours, people across the US have captured what may be the most comprehensive live picture of police brutality ever. Any one of the videos we’ve seen could have sparked a national discussion, with people picking apart their elements, searching for context to argue about, and digging through the pasts of everyone involved. But it’s not just one act of violence. It’s everywhere.

The lawlessness didn't start with the protestors, it started with the police in major cities across the country killing unarmed Americans. They have been doing it for decades. The difference today is that its often on video. Now, we see police brutality on display across the country.

Now, I not saying that most police act this way. Most police are good people trying to do a hard job. The problem is they seldom will give up the bad ones.

All these armed to the teeth right-wing white guys that protested stay at home orders? Where are they now? Obviously, they don't give a **** about government oppression. Their bull**** is exposed now.

I agree with everything except your last paragraph- are you blaming the Michigan stay at home protestors for not coming out with their guns and duking it out with cops? How would that be productive in any way?

What an awful job. Why would anybody want that job?? Being a police officer has got to be a lousy job. Anyway, as a recap, a black man is murdered by a white officer. The white officer is arrested and charged with murder. Protest continues. Why?? Not sure. Riots ensue. Why?? Not sure. And now it was because of white cops?? Really?? Hmmm. Makes me wonder if somebody in Beijing or Moscow is responsible for the information feed. What's next?? I know, We'll start getting transcripts of hacked e-mails of white police officers planning the ruin of inner city communities. Sure. That's next!!

Because it stems from more than this single incident. This abuse has been going on for decades.

It's good to see the police finally cracking down on the riots. I'd prefer if it had been done earlier and more aggressively, but this isn't nothing.

Your Moscow feed doesn't appear to be telling the whole story to you.

I am saying that they are never anywhere to be found when there is real government oppression. Sure, they will take over a city hall when they can't get a haircut or go to a garden center during a pandemic, and they will take over a wildlife refuge when they don't like rules on grazing of public lands, but when the police kill an unarmed black man in broad daylight, in front of god and everyone, they are nowhere to be found.

Why? Because they really don't care anything about freedom, other than for themselves. There is no greater government tyranny than the government killing unarmed Americans in front of everyone, but when they do, all these white guys that are supposed to be so concerned with freedom are no where to be found.

What has this country done to you that makes you hate America so much that you are praising the police killing and injuring unarmed Americans? Sounds to me like you would be much happier in a police state like North Korea or Iran.

You'd have enjoyed that wouldn't you? Seeing white guys, running around with AR-15's, shooting looters, is that what you're looking for?

I am saying that these white guys armed to the teeth protesting a stay a home order during a pandemic say they are so concerned with freedom and against government tyranny, but when the government kills an unarmed black man in front of God and everyone, why did they not protest that? I am not saying they should be rioting or shooting looters, I am saying if they loved this country and freedom at all, they should have been out protesting the government killing unarmed minorities.

Why is it that leftists accuse their enemies of things that they not only do, but that everyone knows about? It's generally known which side is pro-America and which is anti-America, and the common knowledge isn't wrong.

Anyway, I fully support the police protecting us from dangerous criminals. I have family members who live in and near big cities, and would prefer they not descend into chaos.

Not sure in any way about the Moscow or Beijing connections, but the domestic responses to the spark do not seem unjustified in SOOOOO many ways.

Did you want to see armed WHITE GUYS out protesting the police?

No, I think the point was that they seemed to be concerned about government overreach so why are they not concerned with this kind of government overreach the protests are about?

Right now, "the government" is burning down American cities and destroying people's livelihoods.

Except it's not actually "the government" (though many of the rioters probably get money from "the government"). Why does that matter?

Those videos were of the police attacking people peacefully protesting and in some cases, people that were not even protesting. As to who loves America. You support a guy that regularly showers praise on this country's enemies. Trump has showered Kim Jong Un with praise, a dictator that has tortured to death American citizens. So quit pretending to love America, because if you loved America, you would not support a man that showers this country's enemies with praise.

Moreover, don't pretend to love freedom. Because if you love freedom, you would not be for the police killing and beating unarmed civilians. You have exposed your true beliefs so man up and own it.

I have noticed that the protests are generally pretty calm and organized during the day, but when the cops come out later on, things start to get ugly. It’s almost like they are trying to instigate problems so they can use that shiny new billy club they bought last week.

Legislatures overreaching by passing laws abridging natural rights isn't quite the same as one officer breaking protocol. And I don't mean to make light of what happened to George Floyd. I'm pretty pissed off about it too. There are processes in place to deal with that officer. Now I'm sure plenty of white people went out protesting in Minneapolis on Floyd's behalf. The officer got arrested, and then eventually charge. He should have been charged immediately. But if you're looking for militias to hit the streets because one officer got out of line, and I think you're expecting a bit much. Now look what happened, in spite of the lack of WHITE GUYS WITH GUNS.

What's your complaint?
That the lockdown protesters didn't commit violence?
That the lockdown protesters didn't violently protest for George Floyd?
That the Floyd protesters didn't protest the lockdown violently?
That you're only selectively concerned about government oppression yourself?

Why so eager for violence?

I have noticed that the protests are generally pretty calm and organized during the day, but when the cops come out later on, things start to get ugly. It’s almost like they are trying to instigate problems so they can use that shiny new billy club they bought last week.

I saw a good comment somewhere that we should all note we have the money to equip all police officers like the military but still can't get quality healthcare access to everyone. After seeing all those shiny billy clubs, I have to agree.

I watched a commentator reviewing what's going on regarding the riots.

His background is in the military, law enforcement and the Secret Service.

He said that in any crowd control situation, agitators causing possible problems are easily identified by expert observers and then the agitators are removed and the situation cools down.

He noted that in Minneapolis, this was not done. In fact, the situation was allowed to fester and get worse by not addressing it as it was starting.

From what I've heard, the riots were allowed to blossom over a multiple day (night?) period.

The Minneapolis law enforcement seems to have made two BIG mistakes. One to kill a defenseless citizen and the other to not protect citizens that depend on them to maintain order.

BOTH mistakes are producing the response we see now.
