Obviously, there are crazed fruitcakes of every political stripe.
But the number of hyper aggressive right-wing nut jobs who arm themselves with violent threats and/or automatic weapons as they parade their "patriotism"
appears to have grown during the Donald Trump presidency.

What's behind this vigilante mindset?

And as we head toward a heated election, will we see blood spilled at violent confrontations by these angry folks who support "Make America Great"?

Couy Griffin, an anti-lockdown activist who is also the head of the “Cowboys for Trump” organization, is publicly calling for Democratic governors to be killed for purportedly committing “treason.”

Making (credible death or injury) threats to any person is (or at least should be) a criminal act worthy of prosecution.
 
Probably can't be making death threats against elected officials. That may get him a visit by the police and an investigation into whether it was a credible threat or not.

I agree. Seems many Americans are so tightly wrapped that "road rage" has crept into "political rage" and "shopping rage", etc.
I have recently noticed a flurry of flags that say "Don't Tread ON Me!"sign of the times for sure.

Being a person of strong opinions I will at times say something when I see a person doing something I find objectionable.
But I am always aware that saying anything to certain people may lead to a nasty confrontation.

Recently I pointed out that a guy was pushing his grocery cart the wrong direction per the store's "one way" postings.
He promptly called me a prick and was obviously ready to get in my face if I pursued my unwanted direction.
I also witness ultra aggressive driving all the time where I live in metro New York City area.

I tend to be an optimistic pragmatist. So I typically feel things will improve, problems can be solved and the future will be better.
But when I see the how frequent Americans resort to violence out of their frustration, anger, hopelessness or hatred,
I must wonder if our society has become so frayed that our future might include the ultimate form of anarchy--civil war.

Let's face facts, no other democracy suffers even a small percentage of the murders we see annually in the US.
No other society owns as many firearms per 100,000 citizens compared with the US.
And among the wealthy nations of the world, America struggles with the highest percentage of people who live in poverty,
and a history of racial strife.

Probably not, right? THAT cop would likely be in jail same day. Just a guess.

Racist hatred is America's baggage.

When as a kid I departed rural cattle country Florida for cosmopolitan New York I thought I had left the KKK, and all it stands for, behind.
Circa 1956/57, the Ku Klux Klan was still actively recruiting outside Orlando. I saw a KKK poster stapled to a electrical pole at my school bus stop.
That evening I asked my dad what kind of club was the KKK. The poster said, "Be a man. Join the Klan."
 
I'd threaten to kill whoever gave me the name Couy.

Your citation does not gain either of the words 'automatic', nor 'military'. So that's just your bull**** embellishment pushing a political narrative and misleading others who read your post.

In order for a US citizen to possess an automatic weapon there is great deal of process and a goodly amount of additional expense involved. Suffice it to say that it is as I posted, rather highly unlikely that any of those weapons were 'automatic'.

Further, there is not a single military on the planet that uses AR-15s as their field rifle. There is a common design platform, AR (ArmaLite), but in the application of this design, vastly different.

So the claim that there were "automatic military weapons" at that peaceful demonstration is blatantly false, blatantly misleading, and blatantly pushing a preferred politically driven narrative, in short, dishonest.

What was there were peaceful firearms enthusiasts who were legally exercising their 2nd amendment rights and their open carry rights of their firearms and exercising their constitutional rights of peacefully assembling and peacefully protesting.

So enough of the bull****.

The MSM and press love to play to the cowardice and incessant paranoia of most progressive Democrats. I wish for their sake and ours they'd move to Canada or Mexico where they don't have to live in perpetual total terror. I can not understand how anyone can stand to live in perpetual total terror and singularly to hate Trump as most progressive Democrats do.

It's out there, here in Arizona (I moved from Philly/Delaware to here about 5 years ago) aggressive driving is certainly more common I see it all the time, it is the norm whereas back East it was much more exceptional.

I often see pick up trucks driving nowhere in particular with a large confederate flag proudly attached to their vehicle, this is out in Eastern Arizona, Apache Junction area.

Trump has lowered the bar I'm afraid and most likely this is now irreversible, going forward we'll never be the same, selfishness on a new scale has arrived and the "me me me" Trump admirers are by far the worst.

Trump can literally say anything, anything at all and if there is any actual heat on him he simply "clarifies" and tells us what he "really meant" and promptly continues with his insanity.

He can accuse people of murder and laugh as we all watch in horror, laugh as his knuckle dragger supporters defend him.
