"Yovanovitch, for instance, was specifically warned in an email by her top deputy in September 2016 — three years before her testimony — that Burisma had hired an American firm with deep Democratic connections called Blue Star Strategies to “rehabilitate the reputation” of the Ukrainian gas firm and that it had placed “Hunter Biden on its board,” the memos show.

She also met directly with a representative for Burisma in her embassy office, less than 45 days before Trump took office, a contact she did not mention during her impeachment deposition.

The discussions about Burisma inside Yovanovitch’s embassy were so extensive, in fact, that they filled more than 160 pages of emails, memos and correspondence in fall 2016 alone, according to the State Department records obtained under FOIA by the conservative group Citizens United."



So clearly Yovanovitch lied under oath about her knowledge of and meetings with Burisma in the lead up to and fallout from the 2016 election.

It's clear that Burisma, in hiring Hunter Biden and contracting with a Democrat focused PR firm, they they were ready to slide in to a Hillary Presidency with all the wheels greased.

And why the **** should I ever listen to people who laugh at fourteen well-documented instances of obstruction of justice; who laugh at a U.S. president inviting and knowingly receiving the benefit of foreign interference in a democratic election, then not so much as mentioning it to the authorities? People who think it's cool to withhold congressionally appropriated funds for an ally, to help it against what they previously called our "greatest geopolitical foe" (in order to dishonestly smear Obama, of course) , in a bid to strong-arm that ally into manufacturing evidence against an election rival? Why do people like that think anyone would listen to them on the subject of corruption?

What does someone who calls every sex assault allegation against a right winger a "hoax" and every one against a left-winger God's honest truth?

What does a Trumpist think he has to say to me about corruption? About anything?

Has anyone bothered to try to explain what is wrong with there being "contacts" with a Bursima rep, followed by internal "discussions" about Bursima?

Or are we supposed to make up a nefarious story about their content, like this is a board for Hannity Fan Fic rather than debate?

And Nixon was never charged with any crime. The pardon was all part of the deal the GOP worked out with Nixon. If Nixon had refused to resign, he would have faced absolute and certain impeachment and the DOJ was prepared to prosecute for obstruction of justice. The tapes proved Nixon not only was involved in the cover-up to his eyeballs, he actually initiated the conversation regarding payment to the burglars to buy their silence and where such money could be obtained. That would have been the DOJ's prime piece of evidence.

I don't think Trump will enjoy such an accommodation.
