Trump: Gov. Cuomo would be a 'better candidate' than Biden

Do you have any evidence that people are dying in New York right now because they don't have enough ventilators? You don't and that is untrue because Cuomo would be going ballistic and so would all of New York, so all you really have is some complaints for people who like to b****

As for Cumo, he is far left. What has happened is far left in the new normal for Democrats.

The concept is that we are not yet at our peak and to fill that need we require lots more ventilators. Planning for the peak/the worst/the inevitable is smart government. Proactive vs. Reactive....Trump is 100% REACTIVE and the weeks we lost because of that will cause thousands of Americans their lives. Cuomo is being PROACTIVE to save people's lives...

With all due respect, what do you know about NY politics? What part of the country do you live in? Big city, suburb, rural? Have you ever lived in NYC? Do you have any first hand life experience that includes NY?

I'm telling you that I keep up on the news not daily but hourly and if this was a major problem the MSM would be over it like white on rice because they exist solely to denigrate Trump. If and when New York needs more ventilators, Trump will get them for you. He invoked the war powers act to get these made and they are being cranked out.

Oh, you most certainly do.

there's actually a decent possibility of a President Biden in 2021. Ironically, if the GOP was smart and wanted to stay relevant down the line, and not give Democrats complete control of the government in 2025 due to Trump's failures, they'd be wanting the same (and some of them probably do, honestly).

As for the subject of this thread, I dont think Biden will beat Trump but he could. Mayor Pete was the guy who worried me the most of the dem field, but hes out. As for Cuomo, I think he would be more difficult for Trump to beat than Biden. I get that you guys have to rally around Biden because hes your nominee. But hes not a good candidate and can certainly be beaten this fall.

Actually, I believe it's because of Trump's presidency that someone as gaffe laden as Biden even has a chance. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't even have won the nomination, let alone have a chance of winning the general.

That speaks more to the weakness of the field that Biden would have risen to the top. But does he have a chance to win? Yes. I just dont think he will for many of the same reasons Hillary didnt.

You could say the same thing about the GOP field in 2016.

And I agree that if he loses, it would largely be for the same reasons Hillary did. Though I do believe he has a better chance at convincing those Obama 2012 voters who didn't come out for Hillary in 2016 to come back in 2020. There's also 3+ years of an actual Trump presidency that makes 2020 a different political environment than 2016

Do you only watch Fox News? The lack of ventilators is all over the news every day. It took him 2 weeks to invoke the DPA and make GM manufacture ventilators, costing us two weeks and even know it will take 100 days to produce most of them and the ones being made will be too little too late unless we get lucky, and hopefully we will get lucky. Better late than never but not better if you die before they're available.

I trust my governor and what he says 1000 times more than Trump. Cuomo says we will come up short. Trump likes to talk about his TV ratings. Would any other President talk about their TV ratings during a daily briefing? Dr. Fauchi just said (I'm watching him now) that by next week 2000+ Americans will die each day. Don't you think two weeks head start on making ventilators would make a difference?

Trump never talks about doctors and nurses and has no idea what they need - instead he questions the quantity of ventilators, masks, PPE, testing (he said yesterday "he hasn't heard that testing has been a problem."

Cuomo is an American hero with an 87% approval rating in NY
Trump is a partisan liar with an approval rating for his Covid 19 performance at 52% (first time over 50%, ever). Any other President in this situation would have a MUCH higher approval rating

Trumps overall message is hope and optimism. The folks can see through the MSM deliberate attempt to sabotage him.

Cuomo's message is full of bitchy pessimism.

When Trump and Cuomo say the exact same thing and Trump is called a liar by MSM and Cuomo is unchallenged, this comes off and pathetic to the average person.

Cuomo is the only one caught in an embarrassing lie: Cuomo screeching: "we need more ventilators". Trump responding: "we have sent you thousands and almost all of them are still stored in a warehouse". Cuomo at first lies about the ventilators in storage but when exposed and confronted admits it, making up some lame excuse about stockpiling.

Like Pelosi in California Cuomo has no problem in far left states. But in 45 of the 50 states the folks wont vote them in as dogcatcher much less President.

During the same time period Trump as maintained the same and higher approval than Obama. The people conducting these polls hate Trump with a passion, what ever they are showing is less than what he actually has. That 50% is probably always been at least 60% to 70%.

Cuomo is not a hero of any type. He is just a little mam bitching and complaining and taking credit for a Hospital Ship and medical supplies Trump provided him with. (Medical supplies that documents show he was advised to obtain but failed to do so years ago).

So, you're saying that the polling is fixed? All the polls, including Fox News Polls? Really? What other conspiracy theories do you believe?

I'm curious how you believe that Cuomo lied? Stockpiling because all of the projections predict that NY will need 30K ventilators is bad government? Would you rather have too many or too few? Do you want Trump to gamble your life that Cuomo might be overly cautious? You prefer to be "conservative" and be unprepared? Do you? Please explain how being "conservative" about how many to stockpile saves lives?
