Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky tests positive for COVID-19

People in his Red Arizona, and especially the four red congressional districts, are in much less danger with far more resources than Blue states and districts.

We’ll be finding out soon enough which republican businesses, industries, and CEOs will benefit from this crisis, such as Jared. $0.80 masks now going for $7.00

I didn't know he was from Arizona. Quite a few retirees there as well.

I remember that series, definitely very cool!

It ran on HBO for a few years. And in the early 50's there was the line of EC COMICS where TALES first came from.

Yea the comic piece was part of the series IIRC. During transitions in the story.

I certainly hope that those of you ripping on the guy don't take too much offense when you get ripped on for your political views when you catch the bug.

I've never called COVID-19 a hoax. Plenty of you Trumpers did though until CheetoVonTweeto did a 180° on Friday.

That is still a lie, you realize? He never said the illness was a hoax.
Ron Paul (Rand's father) is the one who called it a hoax.

Rand, however, voted against an early aid package.

The Coronavirus Hoax: Overhyped To Bring About More Tyranny]400 Bad Request

By the way, Ron's article was published on March 16th, and proclaimed it was a "hoax" because it had "only" killed 5000 people worldwide. Since then, it's killed an additional 10,000 people.

This is not the kind of curve we want to see.

Whether I wanted to or not, I just drifted into the alternative reality of Breitbart and others to see what our trump cultists are being told to believe.

Reportedly, the results on his rabies test have not yet come back.

He could be at risk after having that rabid Democrat neighbor of his attack him and broke his ribs and punctured his lungs. He was hospitalized for some time and after discharged encountered an infection in the lungs and had to go back to the hospital. He could be at high risk over the damage to his lungs.

Sounds to me he may be at a higher risk living next to his rabid Democrat neighbor.

I don't wish the man ill health, but he has been an absolute ass through this whole thing and what's worse is he knowingly put his colleagues at risk by continuing to be active and use the Senate gym and swimming pool while awaiting his test results. Seriously, Rand has probably seriously eroded what ever minuscule good faith he had with his Republican colleagues about now. What favors will they be willing to grant him, what tolerance will any of his Republican colleagues have for his ideas and grandstanding after he personally put a number of them at risk? They already don't like him.

Sen Paul is a physician. This is significant.

Will Congress start acting and meeting remotely by telephone?

They have to come together to vote tonight. There is no remote voting set up.

Someone should buy that neighbor a beer when this is over.

I reported a news story; what is your beef? I decided to take the high road and not point out the irony of this on many levels........

You want to be specific?

We have way too many that seem to be happy about this story.

CheetoVonTweeto... okay, that was damn funny. Well played.

He used the gym and pool and I would guess locker room while awaiting the test results? What a ****ing moron. That's as bad as the moron who got on a JetBlue flight pending test results and found out he was positive while in the air. ****ing idiots!!!

All the more poignant as Paul is a physician, ophthalmologist.

I believe that guy was banned from JetBlue for life. Expel Rand Paul from the Senate?

He's an EDIT: eye doctor, his father was a doctor in women's health.

Works for me. Unfortunately its going to take over flowing hospitals and deaths from lack of medical care such as ventilators to take this virus seriously.

Since he appears not to be especially sick I'm sure he'll be fine. Of bigger import is the sheer freaking irony of the guy who joined in the hoax choir catching it himself. That would be worth a chuckle if the overall situation weren't so grim.
How old is Rand Paul? Isn't he about 60? Is he elderly?

His neighbor ended up doing prison time for his actions.

Like I said in the other thread, best wishes for a full recovery.
