Senate Intel chair unloaded stocks in mid-February before coronavirus rocked markets

As the coronavirus outbreak began to spread across the U.S. in mid-February, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) unloaded his holdings in dozens of stocks that would lose much of their market value over the coming weeks.

Burr and his wife Brooke sold between $581,000 and $1.5 million in publicly traded stocks on Feb. 13 and didn’t buy any new positions, according to a recent financial disclosure filed with the Senate.

Sounds about right........

I read that earlier. He should prosecuted.

I didn't sell because I figured the dip would be quick (and it still might be) but I did buy some USO yesterday and picked up 14% in the past 24 hours. We'll see how that keeps up.

My son has in less than a month profited around $23,000 by nipping profits. True he could have made over $20,000 today but decided to nip it at only a gain of $6.000. Smart people know about such things.

Given the way the market went they weren't alone.

Its also Ron Johnson and the woman senator from Georgia.

I’d love to see the Trump family’s records, but we dont have them. Think of how much grift you could have made with this kinda insider knowledge?

I mean, frankly, except for the inevitable deaths of elderly family members, COVID 19 might be the biggest boost to the Trump/Kushner family fortunes ever!

What a ****in disgrace these republiscumbags are. I hope Loeffler wins her GA primary against knuckle dragger Collins. She’ll be easier to beat in the general.

Chairman Burr gets private briefings. He and his wife sell stocks like Wyndham which list 2/3 of its value before this stock market crash. It’s not just trump.

I just saw the one about Loeflfer the senator from GA. Richest member of congress worth over $500 million. I sure hope they get prosecuted.

She was just appointed for a Senator who resigned due to health reasons. Bought her seat. The gop is about criminal crony capitalism.

Whomever runs against her has some good campaign fodder. Its a disgrace like Martha Stewart. People who think the rules don't apply to them.

I would think the Trumps are actually hurting pretty badly right now. The hotel industry is laying people off everywhere. That coupled with the constant attorney payments for all the Trump scandals, there probably putting out more than their taking in.

If you think that the economic crisis is caused solely by the appearance of the coronavirus, you are deeply mistaken.
Since there is nothing to do while sitting in quarantine, read Lenin's short work "Imperialism as the highest stage of capitalism". It's all about today..
