MSNBC legal analyst claims Trump may have 'criminal exposure' for 'negligent homicide' over coronavirus deaths
An MSNBC legal analyst claimed President Trump may have “criminal exposure” for “negligent homicide” over his response to the coronavirus.

Glenn Kirschner, a former federal prosecutor, told his Twitter followers Tuesday, “Can we talk about 1 of the few topics I may actually know too much about: homicide? Specifically, whether Donald Trump may have criminal exposure for some level of negligent homicide or voluntary/involuntary manslaughter for the way he’s mishandled the Coronavirus crisis.”
...
He continued his Twitter thread by claiming that Trump’s “negligent/grossly negligent” and “possibly intentional” response to the coronavirus “is a more nuanced and thorny issue and deserves careful consideration,” especially in regards to an alleged “homicide liability.”

Is this a great country or what.

Oh good... more wild speculation to fuel the fire.

BTW, this "MSNBC legal analyst" is full of ****.

It's okay when Trump trolls but not when a nobody does?

I was about to say, sure I agree with this, the democrats should immediately indict Obama for fast and furious

I matched his face to the name just from the comments. He is prone to exaggeration.

There will be an investigation post-crisis, on what blunders we made...and if Trump/Trump's cronies made big, obviously avoidable blunders, we'll crucify him metaphorically for it, as we do with all his tragic words and deeds.
I doubt seriously anything around this particular crisis, would be "criminal" in nature, that seems absurd.

Our system is dumber than Glenn, we have a president above the law, and we need to fix that. Even then, I would imagine this would not qualify, because this is emergency actions in a crisis, where a chief executive no doubt has even broader authority. Talking like that right now..I think is counter-productive either way.

He can be removed for it, but unlikely that anything criminal could arise from this, much less WOULD arise from it.

Not news, or post-worthy though IMO. Looks like Trump stroking.

This is how truly absurd MSNBC is.

IN FACT, if there was any basis for the theory then Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are guilty as hell for knowingly, willfully, maliciously, recklessly and deliberately refusing to allow $1 to try to contain covid-19 for over a week for the first critical week while containment could have been much greater. As a result, Pelosi and Schumer killed hundreds to thousands of people - or more - while making many, many times more people sick.

How is the president above the law?

pretty much. "legal analyst" means he has no clue what he is talking about but since
he is anti-trump he is fine.

See AG Barr and the OLC opinion, don’t be obtuse.........

you are projecting again. why is that?
I have yet to see anything where the president is above the law.

What we have seen is that you actually have to have evidence of a crime to impeach a president which is the way that it should be.
then again we know from democrats that perjury is not even enough to remove a president from office.

Now we are finding out that the 90% of the mueller probe was a complete bust hence why the DOJ just dropped
all charges against a corporation named by mueller because they demanded evidence in discovery and
the DOJ didn't want to turn it over. so a complete bust again by mueller.

In the end, Trump is a sock puppet in the same way Dubya was. That is, the puppet masters behind the scenes make the decisions, whether it was 911 or this Covid thing.

I don't think Trump should be prosecuted for negligent homicide, but he sure as hell is a piss poor national leader.

I'm still not certain of the tiny details of why certain agencies guarding the public health were defunded under Trump, but it happened according to many. Whether it was just obscenely magnificent incompetence or malicious intent I don't know, but it's pretty sad. Water under the bridge at this point in time.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Guess since there is no statute of limitations for homicide or murder then we need to arrest Obama and Biden for their handling of the H1N1 Swine flu epidemic that killed 14,500 Americans! And, what is "criminal exposure" anyway? What a dunce!!!

You don't deserve a response from me. But for anyone curious, who lived in a ****ing hole the past three years, Presidents cannot be indicted by DOJ under current DOJ rules, and investigation into a sitting president is difficult and in some cases practically impossible. Add in pardon power as the fail-safe to potential legal jeopardy from a member of the conspiracy, and it's extraordinarily difficult to even investigate them, and nearly impossible to federally indict them.
