FCC Commissioner Calls Out Adam Schiff Over His Secret Subpoenas, May Take Action

Read the article.

The FEC commissioner didn't cite the law that backs up his claim. Do you know or have a link to the law, zimmer?

Because here's a law that says Schiff didn't need judicial review or permission to subpoena phone records....

"In Smith v. Maryland, 442 U.S. 735 (1979), the court said Americans did not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the information showing who they spoke to on the telephone because the phone company possessed that information. With no reasonable expectation of privacy in that information, the court concluded police didn’t need a warrant to obtain it."

What is the difference between the FCC Chairman and the Commissioner?

Not sure that's it since the article doesn't reference the subpoena - and still says a subpoena hasn't been disclosed. Regardless, it's still troubling that (1) it bypassed the normal process (2) was done in secrecy, (3) wasn't disclosed to the minority party, and (4) records were released to the public.

The entire article is about the so called "secret subpoenas." The subpoenas were for the phone records of Giuliani and Parnas...not other congress members or journalists like the rightwing media and FCC commissioner are alleging.

Nunes and other republicans on the Intel Committee had access to subpoena records the entire time. I didn't see any other republicans on the intel committee making the claim the subpoena was secret...just Nunes and rightwing media like the WSJ...and now an FCC commissioner who obviously doesn't know the law...

This is why Republicans are called 'hypocrites'....

"...Nunes has railed against the impeachment inquiry and repeatedly accused Schiff of lacking transparency throughout the six-week investigation leading up to the report. Nunes never disclosed his calls with Giuliani or Parnas, despite the pair featuring prominently in the impeachment proceedings...."

Rank.

I misspoke in my previous posts....I meant the FCC...not the FEC.

Or, maybe he thinks he's above the law.

I think that pretty much a certainty at this point, don't you? (along with all the rest of the Democrats and radical leftists, though I needlessly repeat myself).

Exactly- Congress has oversight.
Well except when it comes to Trump

Much like a 3rd world democracy

Except when it comes to private documents.

The difference is when Schiff proceeds with a subpoena, he does his research to make sure he's within the law. Remember who appointed Carr. Those folks don't do research as they believe they are above the law.

Schiff is on Trumps enemies list. Enough said.

He lies with impunity. Why isn’t Schiff on your list?
