    Trump administration expands reach of EPA secret science proposal

    Trump administration expands reach of EPA secret science proposal | Science | AAAS

    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) yesterday evening released a controversial proposal to limit the scientific research used in the federal rulemaking process.

    Greens have already vowed to sue the agency.
    =============================================
    Comment: "The draft released yesterday builds on a 2018 proposal issued by then-EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, who at the time declared that “the era of secret science at EPA is coming to an end.”

    It seems that the Trump Administration prefers to do anti-science stuff in secret.

    “These additions and clarifications to the proposed rule will ensure that the science supporting the agency’s decisions is transparent and available for independent validation while still maintaining protection of confidential and personally identifiable information,” said Wheeler.
    Why is this a bad thing?

    Oh...wait...this is why.

    The fear among progressives is that the proposal would ease regulations for air pollution, for instance, which would benefit the energy industry.
    God forbid we do anything that would benefit the evil energy industry.

    And we should never do anything about industry dumping airborne cancer-causing chemicals into the air we have to breath. And the energy industry is doing just fine with their ludicrous government subsidies.

    What makes you think the EPA will let any industry dump "airborne cancer-causing chemicals into the air we have to breath"?

    btw, if you don't like government subsidies, you should be talking to Congress. The EPA doesn't decide who gets subsidies.
