Eight elected officials switch party affiliation to Republican in Mississippi

The former Democrats include District Attorney Matt Sullivan, Chancery Clerk Cindy Austin, Circuit Clerk Anthony Grayson, Tax Assessor-Collector Mary Lou Powell, Beat 4 Supervisor Danny Arender, and Justice Court Judge Hulon West.

Big news!

It went south from "in Mississippi", which was unexpected

When a Circuit Clerk changing political affiliation doesn't make CNN, we know the fix is in.

It's not big news because of what their elected positions are, but for what it is representing. People are leaving the crazy democrats, far more then many realize, and it will get worse if sanders takes the nomination.

"Hey, did you hear about the Chancery Clerk, in Mississippi, changing party affiliation?"

"Nope."

"That's because of the conspiracy."

County governments often switch parties. For example, Dallas County was considered a Republican stronghold - until it went Democratic - including a Democratic Latino Lesbian Sheriff of Dallas County, Texas.

They got republicans in Mississippi? Who knew?

OMG, [insert small local story] hasn't been reported in the mainstream media!

"I blame Soros!"

No, they are just following a trend. We have seen it here in Tennessee. It's a deep red state now and if you want to be elected, you run as a Republican because lots of voters are idiots and just look at the R.

We had a judge here, decades on the bench, very solid, huge support across both parties, because it's not a partisan position, but was a D. Ran against a guy who literally barely got through law school, was failing miserably as a private lawyer, spent like $500 on the race, but was an R. He won.

Heck, it's getting to be like it was in my dad's era, where the D primary was THE election back then. Now it's the same but with R's. I'm voting in the Democratic primary and have ONE race - the presidential primary. On the R side I'd vote in 6 races.

Dallas went democrat because anyone with any common sense left and went to the suburbs

Big news.. not being reported in any main stream places that I see... Odd.

Not big news. It may be big local news in Mississippi, but given that those who switched party affiliation have at best, influence in local politics, not very many people outside of Mississippi are going to care as it doesn't impact the nation in any real way.

If the headline were eight Congressmen or Senators in Washington were to defect...THAT would be big news as it would affect the nation.

I once switched to Geico and saved 30% or more on car insurance.

Does that make the news? Apparently not.

MSM is run by globalists from the left.

This actually is pretty big news, seeing at what time all of this is going on. it looks more like people are bailing out from the current dumpster fire that the democratic party has become.

Even leftyz in the media are admitting the conspiracy. Downplay trumps victores, amplify the neg.

You poor, poor victim. When will the forces of evil relent against your moronic beliefs? Well, in the meantime you can cry and invent bs to satisfy your victimhood needs.

"CNN didn't report the Clerk changed parties!! I'm a victim!!!"

Good job. Rarely have I seen someone crap their pants over something so meaningless.

You are insane if you don't think this would be on repeat on CNN if it could be spun as a a negative for trump and the republicans.

Anyway, take it for whatever you want. It's just another canary in the coal mine - a pretty big one IMO.

When you are shocked that Trump won in 2020 and most of the anchors and Hollywood are in tears, remember this story and what it was portending

Yeah, they be nothing in Mississippi worth mentioning.

I was an acquaintance of 2 Justice of the Peace in Texas who did the same thing.

Neither actually changed their views on politics, but it was to get the straight 'R' ticket voters vote.

It worked, they both got voted in year after year until they retired.

Party swaps change face of Rostraver politics | TribLIVE.com

The balance of political power in Rostraver shifted recently when two of the township’s commissioners changed their political affiliations from Democrat to Republican.
In January, board Chairman John Lorenzo, who was elected in November as a Democrat, and Henry Boldyzar Jr., whose current four-year term started last year, switched parties and, in doing so, gave Republicans a 3-2 board majority.

Kerry Jobe, chairman of the county Republican Committee, said he expects to see more high ranking Democrats make similar moves to the GOP.
“I think this is indicative that the Democratic Party on the national level has become too socialist. Overall, the JFK Democrats will continue to come over to the Republican Party,” Jobe said.

More canarys poppling up. But don't worry about it. It's nothing.
