Scoop: New White House personnel chief tells Cabinet liaisons to target Never Trumpers - Axios

Johnny McEntee called in White House liaisons from cabinet agencies for an introductory meeting Thursday, in which he asked them to identify political appointees across the U.S. government who are believed to be anti-Trump, three sources familiar with the meeting tell Axios.

Behind the scenes: McEntee, a 29-year-old former body man to Trump who was fired in 2018 by then-Chief of Staff John Kelly but recently rehired — and promoted to head the presidential personnel office — foreshadowed sweeping personnel changes across government.

But McEntee suggested the most dramatic changes may have to wait until after the November election.
Trump has empowered McEntee — whom he considers an absolute loyalist — to purge the “bad people” and “Deep State.”
McEntee told staff that those identified as anti-Trump

--

Translation: Trump is trying to remove people from his administration who believe in the Rule of Law, and the U.S. Constitution and aren't willing to sell their souls to become complicit in his ongoing corruption.

The purge of law-abiding officials has begun.

The Don wants to be a "Don". This is how you do it.

And the Dems are about to hand him four more years...he's not going to pivot folks. It's just going to get worse every day.

That it shall, that it shall.

We'll see who comes out of the Democrats Primary. At this point I think even Sanders has a chance to beat Trump. I would say that under a normal election cycle, Sanders would stand no chance. But because it's Trump, I think there's enough backlash and enough people willing to hold their noses that it could happen. I don't think Trump winning is a foregone conclusion at this point. It's certainly possible, I never try to underestimate the Democrats potential of ****ing up. But I don't think that it's automatically in the bag for Trump either.

No... it’s his office... he’s tired of ****heads getting in the way.

He should have done a massive cleaning everywhere he could have from Day 1. He learned that lesson too late.

But... he’s fulfilled a ton of promises despite the ****heads.

Drain the swamp.

Yes.
It will.
It's going to get much, much worse before it gets better.

It will have to get so bad that people are willing to take on the corrupt system which lets crooks like Trumpco et al get into power.

When they pound on Sanders for all of the money his programs will cost, and how it will tank the already slowing economy, in combination with all of the dirt on Sanders that exists, it will be a cake walk for Donnie.

Political appointees. That sounds different from the rank and file government employees.

The only thing we can hope for is either a Super Tuesday miracle where Bernie doesn't run away with it, or the Senate finally going to the Dems in 2022.

I mean, if dirt actually mattered, Trump wouldn't be President. So that's out.

We already know that it's going to cost a lot, and even Bernie admits to the necessity of raising taxes on the middle class. Hard pill to swallow, but that's already out in the ether.

I think that there are enough younger folk who go for this sort of thing that if he creates the excitement and gets the vote out, he wins. It's going to come down to voter turnout (which I guess could be said about most elections). If there's a big draw from voters, then the Dems, even Sanders, just may walk away President.

I think we may be in a pickle if Sanders gets in, but also what he wants to do is so huge that he couldn't get it done in 4 years. And in 4 years the GOP can regroup and maybe come up with a competent and decent individual to run. In fact, I think that overall, Trump losing would be a great benefit to the GOP.

It's as plain as day.

Trump is implementing a plan of action to create a Putin style authoritarian regime in Washington with himself at the apex.

Just this past week we saw Trump remove US intelligence officials who warned that Russia is again election-interfering for the benefit of Donald Trump.

The Trump rush towards authoritarian rule continues in full force. Shame on the GOP for facilitating it.

Makes you wonder what skills all of those other Presidents had that Donald lacks.

No one else had to conduct a loyalty purge of the federal govt to get things done.

Why does Donald need all these special exceptions to get the job done?
Does he lack the administrative and executive skills to get things done w/o these sorts of crutches?

The way Trump can become King of America is to remove those who don't agree and hire those who do agree that Trump should be king. Even if those he hires are Trump re-treads, suckers, dummies and fools. There are no actual qualifications for jobs in the Trump government. Experience is meaningless as long as an applicant will demonstrate his/her fealty to Donald Trump.

It's our office Zimmer, and if he keeps hiring cultish authoritarians like you he will burn our Republic to the ground.

I suspect we will get Trump for 8 - 12 more years.

I think you are mistakenly equating Trump's teflon abilities to Bernie or anyone else. Dirt will hurt most candidates, it just really never hurt Trump.

And young people don't vote, historically. After months in the general where all of their dreams of free college and healthcare get deflated, they'll end up with their typical abysmal turnout numbers.

But I don't think that it's automatically in the bag for Trump either.
We will see how motivated the Electorate is.

Polling indicates that most Americans think Trump sucks as President.
Sucks as President like no President before him actually.

But
Who will go out and vote?

If it's a representative sample of the US, Trump could easily lose.

Historically, young people don't vote. This is true. And they may not vote this time around either. But I don't think that historic precedent will be a good indicator for the outcome of 2020. So it remains possible. Let's say Bernie gets the nod (not even that is determined). He's charismatic, in many ways he's like Trump in that manner, he can draw the crowds. And the things he speaks to really resonates with younger voters as well. If they decide to come out of the woodwork, if Sanders motivates them to vote, Sanders wins.

Trump's not earning more votes, his cult is what he has and I don't think that moderates would be motivated to come out and vote for him even if he's up against Sanders. Doesn't mean those guys will vote Sanders, maybe they'll stay home or maybe vote 3rd party (the latter being the better choice). But Trump's not getting more votes. So his hope relies on the Democrats not getting more votes either. And with Sanders, I'm not sure that's the case. I think it's quite possible to make that draw.

Trump's EC victory came with narrow wins in key states, and states that had traditionally been blue. So it's not hard to imagine that Sanders would need just a little more draw from those key states to flip the script and end up with the EC.

So in the end, I don't think we can necessarily depend on historic markers being accurate this election cycle. And I don't think that someone even like Sanders is a sure loss. It's quite possible for Sanders to win, for most any democrat to win. I think a lot of the Trumpeteer propaganda is aimed at trying to convince Dem voters to stay at home.

It’s his office... and if there are ****heads, they should be sent packing.

I know in our family company, if we had people working against the interests of the company, had them leaking business secrets.. or being a general pain in the ass... we’d can their asses too... and rightly so. That said... I haven’t had anything to do with the family business, having gone on my own long ago, but I’m in regular contact, still interested and know the general sentiment.

Jack Welch stated it well, and this is known by anyone who runs a business... or is a manager... which I can tell you are not.

You have four types of employees.

1. Those who don’t know and don’t want to learn. you don’t hire them.

2. Those who know, but don’t tow the line.

3. Those who don’t know, but are willing to learn.

4. Those who know and tow the line.

Where do all your problems come from?

2

The answer is #2... but most pick #3.

It’s #2 because these people cause all the problems... and if you cannot get them on board... you fire their asses.

You can teach #3.

Trump is firing #2’s. And rightly so. They can go **** up someone else’s office or business. Good riddance.

It's the swing states. We have to focus on the battleground states. Where is Trump polling compared to the other candidates in those 4 to 5 states that gave Trump the Presidency last time? Nothing else really matters. It was in states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan that Trump barely won in 2016 by eeking out small victories in those respective states.
