Sanders Campaign Erupts on Chuck Todd for Citing Quote Comparing Bernie Bros to Nazis

One thing Bernie says that I agree with is the corporations receiving welfare on the taxpayers' dime. It is just wrong. But members of both parties vote for things because the lobbyists courting them that will fill their coffers with funds toward their next election.
In many cases, yes. In cases where he counts things like "Their Tax Rate Is Less Than 50%" as "welfare".... Less so.

Good point cpwill.

sanders’s supporters — SS — are naive enough, stupid enough, CT enough, and delusional enough to get played and filleted by your bull****. You desperately want sanders to run against.

Non-sequitur.

Way to keep it classy though...

Chuck Todd Blasted for Citing 'Brown Shirt' Quote on Bernie Bros

The contempt the Mainstream Media has for Bernie's voting base is palpable. I couldn't imagine how terrible, and how miserable of a life that Chuck Todd leaves to see a voting base actually be enthusiastic about a candidate and immediately thinking they're Nazis.

Liberal Democrats do not want to see the Democratic Party obliterated in the election - and being an American liberal is the antithesis of being a socialist progressive.

No. No one made Bernie defend or celebrate those regimes. He chose to do that himself. He has no one to blame but himself when (if he gets the nomination) that association is hung around his neck.

Bernie and his people have only ever played the role of happy-insurgent in a field where no one wanted to really criticize their ideals, their connections, or their base. He's not ever really been raked over.... And it's not going to be pretty when (if) it happens.

Maybe they are ready for what is coming, should he won the nomination. But I doubt it.

Oh no, I get what you're doing, you're showing me what it will be like when they tee off on him.
And I say it's the weakest of weak sauce because as radioactive as all that sounds to a conservative like yourself, it sounds like a supportive essay about the film "Reefer Madness" to a room full of pot smokers to non-cons.

It sounds like a caricature, it sounds like the 1950's Red Scare, it sounds like Stilwell Conner and Robert Welch preaching to the Birchers. It's only going to play well mostly to people who don't vote Democratic.

Even the mods on the Dem side who dislike Sanders aren't resorting to paranoid red baiting that extreme.

VZ was corrupt and failing twenty years before Chavez, due to a one dimensional petroleum economy.
Cuba, same thing...corrupt oligarchy...and they've been punished for sixty years for stealing from the mob oligarchy here.
USSR - Hmmmm, life was SO GOOD for the peasants under the Czarist system of the Imperial Russian Empire.

So it's clear, you think Bernie is a communist.
Not a socialist, not a democratic socialist, not a social democrat, a communist.

The 1950's called...they want to remind you that Joe McCarthy is dead.

Yes, that can be Bernie Sander's November campaign - praising Castro and the USSR.

Of course, the USA isn't Cuba or the USSR, is it? Sanders is the worst enemy the Democratic Party has - the enemy within. His candidacy last time made Trump president. He's doing all he can to do this again.

On the Republican side, there is a debate over whether to encourage or oppose Sanders. It's a matter of the odds. In ever normal circumstance, the Republican Party absolutely would love for a Russia-living, Cuba loving Communist/socialist as the Democratic Party's candidate. But the danger is some bizarre sudden catastrophic event whereby he won.

If Sanders is the Democrat's candidate, Trump will be re-elected, Republicans will control both houses of Congress and will probably turn the Supreme Court into a 6 -3 court. But that is a risk Sanders supporters are willing to take because most are fanatics generally detached from reality.

Your baseless conspiracy theories are divisive and doesn't help in unifying the Democratic party.

Sanders is trying to erase the Democratic Party and replace it with the Socialist Worker's Party.

This is what Sanders promises:

MASSIVE tax increase
An environmental policy he brags will cost people their jobs
Open borders and free healthcare to everyone on earth

Doesn't sound like winning issues to me.

Non-sequitur.

Class is not something of which you’ll see trump or any of his supporters accused.

Looks like Warren will need hundreds of buses of voters bussed in to win.

Yet, dumb-ass trump supporters still support his insane lies.

The Democratic Party has been "Red Baiting" for 4 years, with Sanders himself doing so.

So now Chris Matthews is "Bircher?" :lamo

Benie Bros are likely mostly Russia trolls. It is no secret that Russia wants Sanders to win for many obvious reasons.

Republican windfall tax cuts since Reagan have given us the $22 Trillion total accumulated debt.

trump will lie about a middle-class tax cut before the election.

You’re probably correct that Russia wants sanders to win ... the NOMINATION.

I am feeling more contempt for Bernie supporters than I did a month ago. I just don't know how to resolve the problem they will present whether Sanders wins or loses.

Thanks for trying to warn the bernie bros. They have no idea what’s about to hit them on July 16th if and when sanders wins the nomination. They’re oblivious to the free press trump gets every day magnifying his insults.

Oh no, I get what you're doing, you're showing me what it will be like when they tee off on him.

[emoji38] good heavens, no. What I am doing is telling you that they will tee off on him. ;) It's the difference between someone telling you that taking a baseball bat to the face repeatedly is really gonna hurt, and actually taking the baseball bat to the face repeatedly. That's what Bernie has to look forward to if he gets the nomination. Neither he nor his supporters have ever dealt with it before, and he is unlikely to be very agile in adapting to it.

And I say it's the weakest of weak sauce because as radioactive as all that sounds to a conservative like yourself, it sounds like a supportive essay about the film "Reefer Madness" to a room full of pot smokers to non-cons.

I think you are confusing "someone who is already a Bernie supporter" with "voters".

It sounds like a caricature, it sounds like the 1950's Red Scare, it sounds like Stilwell Conner and Robert Welch preaching to the Birchers

Actually it's going to sound like a bunch of Bernie quotes in support of horrific murderers, and ads featuring the survivors and victims of the people he palled around with or cheered.

See, the difference between the "Red Scare Fearmongering" ghost you are trying to appeal to and Bernie is that Bernie is actually on record.

Even the mods on the Dem side who dislike Sanders aren't resorting to paranoid red baiting that extreme.

That's the point. Bernie has never been challenged on this, not seriously, before. It's a serious vulnerability he's never had to defend, because generally he's only run against other leftists.

You changed your post since I responded. I did not mention Russia. Go hug your kitty.

Good point. Those ole hard core socialist regimes that Bernie has been a cheerleader for are absolute teddy bears. Venezuela, Cuba, the Soviet Union, none of them have human rights records that are remotely similar to history's horrific abusers.

Even if the extreme version of what you are claiming is true (Bernie Sanders wants to make America into a socialist regime), the way our government functions would not allow him to do so. He wants to increase equality in the interest of enhancing our democracy. It is unreasonable to equate his candidacy to a socialist regime.

Again, that is not what I said. What I said is that his historical cheerleading of those regimes is a problem that neither he nor his supporters have ever really had to face before. Witness the inadequacy of even their response to this critique from a fellow leftist.

Explain how that correlates to Sanders and his supporters? I am not really sure what you mean by that.

The media is not doing the 'rights' bidding on this...the media is doing what they did in 2016...****ing Bernie for the sake of the DNC. The Media is the Gimp...the DNC is Maynard. Zed...well...Zed aint dead...but we do have a new Zed. Zed used to be Hillary. We arent 100% yet but Im pretty sure this years Zed is Mikey. Bernie...well...Bernie is damn sure not Marcellus Wallace and the Bernie Bros...they aint Butch. They already got Gimp ****ed once, and its about to happen again.

1. Sanders has an unfortunate history of cheering, defending, or praising brutally murderous regimes because they are leftist.

1.a. There is also a small but identifiable and discoverable apologist movement for those regimes within the Left, a group that is most likely to overlap with Bernie supporters/volunteers/etc. Those people will be found and, like all of Bernie's old statements and actions, they will feature in Republican ads should Bernie get the nomination.

2. Because he has only really ever run against leftists, neither Bernie nor his campaign have ever dealt with actual sustained and deep criticism on this front. It's a large vulnerability that they are likely unprepared to defend. Witness, their inability to respond effectively even to this relatively mild critique from a fellow leftist and Democrat.

When has Bernie ever stated that he supported those specific governments? I do not think he has, but please send me a link if I am wrong.

And if you find that he has, in fact, praised, cheered, or defended any of those regimes, what will you do?

Because, respectfully, I suspect the answer (for most Bernie supporters, at least) will be a combination of minimizing, attempting to goal-shift, or trying to shift focus back into Republicans/critics. But, I want to give you a chance first to say what you would do.

If he has supported those regimes, then I would need to know the context. President Trump has defended and praised many governments that are guilty of severe human rights abuses. Many people learn the context in which he is doing so, and they understand that he is supporting a certain policy of that government, not the government itself. The same must be done for Bernie.

If he outright claimed that those governments are good or supported them to the extent that I believe he supports those regimes on the whole, then of course I would never want him in my government. I do not support human rights abuses. However, I have not been convinced that this is the case. It seems to me that partisanship makes both sides straw-man their opponents based on over-generalizations. I will change my mind of course if I am presented with the evidence.

Bingo.

Sanders supporters think that mainstream Democratic concerns and MSM criticism are agressive? Oh this is child's play compared to what will happen if Trump, the Republicans, and Russia decide to make a full-throated, vengeful attack against Sanders. They think it's bad now, they ain't seen nothin' yet!

Agreed. That's what I've been also saying forever. The attacks will be vicious, and some of them may stick if Bernie doesn't counter-attack efficiently. The problem is, the right wing is likely to play dirtier than Bernie so counter-attacking is not so easy, especially if Trump refuses to attend debates.

Can you provide a quote from Bernie where he cheerleads for Venezuela, Cuba, or the Soviet Union?

Or you could admit you were lying and say that he cheerleads the Scandinavian model of Socialism, but Truth and Trumpers don’t go together.
