Trump now says he's open to entitlement cuts, including Medicare

What he said is he may consider increasing social security and other entitlement because he predicts huge economic growth.

I don't believe that anyone actually believes that interpretation of what Trump said, but if it's a day that ends in Y, then it's a day that Trump supporters are saying that Trump didn't say something he said and he did say something he never said and he never meant any of it because he meant something else. And some of us are just too stupid to understand a language we speak fluently.

That's because he rarely has any grasp on any subject he's discussing. I remember when he said he was going to install a precast concrete wall along the entire border with Mexico. My colleagues in development and I, including the Republicans, still joke about it years later.

You know what if he has to, then he has to. With all the choices he has made that has made our country better, I would trust that if there was any other way he would have taken it. And yes I would still vote for him.

Some times, I think conservatives are 99% denial. Cutting entitlements is precisely what conservatives love to do. They also like cutting taxes on those who need it least. It's just their thing. Why can't you admit it.

The most believable claim in the world is that conservatives want to starve the poor and grease the rich. It's only been done by every conservative in the last 50 years. Yet, every time it's mentioned, cons go in to self defense mode because, secretly, they know it's the biggest of anti-Christian, dick moves.

Nobody asked "conservatives" the question. A reporter asked Trump. Trump gave his answer.

Anything else you have to say about it is irrelevant. Akin to whining and crying.

To the Trump haters, "context and nuance" means "spin".

Trump words were very clear. The context was very clear. There was no nuance in his statement.
 
Wow the Democrats are truly desperate and the lemmings will bite on anything. Trump said he would take a look at entitlements. With millions of more people working and almost every working person making more money, it only makes sense that there will be fewer people on the welfare roles. Why would funding be kept at the same levels? One would hope the president takes a look at these programs.

Their are many aspects of entitlements that need examination. I recently went to a forum where a representative of the Social Security Department gave us a talk. Things I learned, they are paying benefits to over 2.5 million people that are over 100 year old. She told us that the census shows that only about 200K people over 100 exist but they still keep paying. They are actually still paying benefits to people who served in the Civil War. When pressed she admitted that most of that was fraud. Then she said they would rather pay fraudulent payments to a million people than risk depriving one person who actually deserves it. She admitted they are paying at least $10 billion annually to people collecting fraudulently. Social Security Disability fraud is a major problem too.

Medicare and Medicaid are not any better. They are both rife with fraud.

In fact every entitlement program is rife with fraud. The main reason is every time they try to address it the Democrats go crazy and start accusing the Republicans of pushing granny over a cliff.

As for me, I will strongly support any candidate who promises to address these problems.

Since the last Civil War veteran died in 1956 the office of S.S. should have been aware of it and investigated those claims.

Of course, there's Medicare fraud, I've seen it myself. Of course there's Medicaid fraud. But you don't end fraud by decreasing benefits, you end fraud by rooting it out at the source.
