I am shocked. Shocked. To find Gambling going on in here.

Department of Justice prosecutors reportedly are investigating the possibility that former FBI director James Comey leaked a classified Russian intelligence document to the media
during the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails, according to a Thursday report from the New York Times.

Per the Times, the investigation is centered around two 2017 articles from the Times and the Washington Post describing the Russian document, which played a key role in Comey’s unilateral decision to announce in July 2016 that the FBI would not pursue charges against Clinton for using a private email server to conduct official business during her time as secretary of state.... Investigators are examining whether Comey’s personal lawyer, Daniel Richman, gave the Russian document to reporters. Richman played a key role in a different, confirmed leak that Comey orchestrated to hand over memos of his private encounters with President Trump in the early days of the Trump administration.

“I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter,” Comey testified to Congress in June 2017. “I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.” In August, Horowitz found that Comey violated policy and set a “dangerous example” for the rank-and-file by retaining and leaking the memos. Horowitz referred Comey for potential prosecution over the matter, but the DOJ declined to prosecute....

The Republican rule is simple: always keep at least one investigation open at all times for Republicans to hang their hopes on. As it becomes apparent that one investigation is fizzling out, overlap that failure quietly by opening a new one.

Benghazi, emailgate, Plutonium One, the Nunes Memo report, the failed prosecution of Andrew McCabe, the IG investigation...Durham? Yeah, remember Durham? Boy, nobody talks about that guy much anymore.

But yeah, Barr is super intent on handing Trump any kind of PR win he can get, and he's going back to the old hits to do it.

They just continually end up eating their own poo in every, single one of these sham investigations.

I'm starting to get the impression that repulicans like eating their own poo.

I can smell your fear. You're terrified of what this investigation is going to uncover. This is going to be the final apocalypse for Democrats! /trumpsupporter

From the NYTimes:

"The timing of the investigation could raise questions about whether it was motivated at least in part by politics. Prosecutors and F.B.I. agents typically investigate leaks of classified information around the time they appear in the news media, not years later. And the inquiry is the latest politically sensitive matter undertaken by the United States attorney’s office in Washington, which is also conducting an investigation of Mr. Comey’s former deputy, Andrew G. McCabe, that has been plagued by problems."

Gee, ya think?

DOJ - Trump via Barr's private investigative arm.

The US has now what was long feared by the Founders, an Imperial President, with no checks or balances

It's funny to watch y'all cry about investigations, now...lol

Leave it up to Comey's buddies at the NYT to try to get ahead of the story and make it about Trump...even if they have to lie to do it.

Oh well...I bet Comey is a sad panda now that THIS part of his past is catching up with him. But keep in mind that Durham isn't finished.

Nobody's talked about Durham in over a month. And after this investigation fizzles out, expect Barr to open an investigation into Whitewater. By the end of 2020 the DOJ will be investigating Chappaquiddick.

Yes, yes...keep telling yourself that.

Nothing illegal, guys.

LOL, LOL
Various people and groups assert that U.S. president Donald Trump has engaged in impeachable activity both before and during his presidency, and talk of impeachment began before he took office. Formal efforts were initiated by representatives Al Green and Brad Sherman, both Democrats, in 2017, the first year of his presidency. A December 2017 resolution of impeachment failed in the House by a 58–364 margin. The Democrats gained control of the House in 2019 and launched multiple investigations. The Mueller Report was released on April 18, 2019. In July 2019, the House voted 332-95 to kill the first articles of impeachment brought forward under the new Democratic majority. After the vote Pelosi said “We have six committees that are working on following the facts in terms of any abuse of power, obstruction of justice and the rest that the president may have engaged in. Green argued that the House should go further than it did in condemning the president’s remarks and move to impeach Trump for a pattern of inflaming racial tensions in America. Green previously forced votes on impeachment in December 2017 and January 2018, which House GOP leaders moved to table. Each of those impeachment votes drew the support of about 60 Democrats.

What did you say about GOP investigations?

What did you say about GOP investigations?
Did he say that some of them get results?
Huber, Horowitz, and Benghazi?

Maybe if we investigate Benghazi one more time...

They all have ginormous poopatites

And of course their investigations into the heathen liberals are praise-worthy hunts for justice, while investigations into them are horrible atrocities.

We aren't supposed to assume guilt because there is an investigation, are we?

At any rate, if someone did wrong, they should be punished. But I'm not putting much faith in any Trump-demanded Barr investigations at this point. Guy's a stooge and every single one of the investigations into left targets that were supposed to utterly destroy their target fizzled out into nothing, without a dent being made in claims that the next one will be the killer.

Even stuff like "Hillary is corrupt! Lock her up!" and Sessions did not get a grand jury indictment on anything (nor is there any indication he tried). So... ?

Unlike the Democrats' investigations that did not lead to traditional criminal cases - the distinction is important, because the ones that are resolved politically, like Mueller's and then the Ukraine thing, rely exclusively on the conscience of other politicians for enforcement - the GOP's investigations that feed int other criminal rather than political system ALL seem to fizzle. Or at least, the ones Trump desires.

So we'll see, but eh..... it'd be interesting if even one got through the grand jury. (Bear in mind the ham sandwich quip).

Yes, yes...keep telling yourself that.

How many indictments did Durham's investigation produce?

If a grand jury will indict a ham sandwich if a prosecutor's desire it, what do you suppose explains the failure of grand juries of all these allegedly guilty left targets? Infiltration by the Men in Bla...."Obama deep state"? Mind control worms from space? What?

You just keep jumping from one pile of **** to the other, never looking back. Never even looking down at your feet.

I'd think at some point a light would go on. You'd say "hey...wait...maybe the far right propaganda I'm listening to is....propaganda?" Hell, maybe you did say but were paid not to. Who knows, who knows?

From what I understand Congress, Congress, not the House is a co equal branch.

Is that correct?

For the first time in decades I refused to fund my college alma mater. They have announced that Comey is teaching a 3 credit course
in, get this' 'ethical leadership' one astute current student asked 'If I take the course & Comey is indicted will I get my money back?'
