Or, consider the analogous situation: a 15-year-old boy is kicked out of a school for wearing an '88' jersey. The number "88" is used as a symbol by various neo-Nazi groups. Without knowing anything about his history, we might scoff, "Ridiculous! Expelled for simply wearing the number 88." But what if his pastime is stirring up support for Nazism and white supremacy, with multiple citations? Then the "88" takes on a whole new significance. It isn't a harmless coincidence. It's passive-aggressive defiance to the moral order of the school. I'd have no problem with the school kicking his arse to the curb, and I doubt many right-wingers would disagree with me.

    Don't judge without the facts.
In 2020 that would be disturbing and should be a warning sign to stay away from such an institution. And I find comparing donning LGBT clothing to Neo-Nazi gear reprehensible and offensive. Especially being as I grew up around Neo-Nazi skins, some of which are in prison for rape and manslaughter. A rainbow isn't a hate symbo.l 88 and Swastika's are.

Loving your neighbour means forgiving their transgressions, dealing with them calmly and patiently, and striving to help them out of tough situations. It doesn't mean being a doormat, compromising one's morals, or ignoring two years of violations of an express moral code.

So again: if this was just the rainbow cake and the school militantly cracking down out of the blue, I agree with you it's far too harsh a response and inconsistent with Christian love and prudence. But in the far more likely case that this is a fed-up school board saying enough to a self-willed student who's repeatedly shown open contempt for the values on which the school is built, I've no doubt that Christ himself will approve them in the judgment. Christ was patient and longsuffering, but he was not a doormat who tolerated the practice of sin, no matter what the more progressive churches claim.

To be honest with you, I am not interested in their dress code. They have a code and they have a right to enforce their code and it is not my business to get between them and their enforcement of their dress code.

So what you're saying is that you have no issue with a private business legislating and dictating morality and personal choices of clothing and food choices while far away from their premises and off their clock. Very Nanny state. Ironic that this is the sort of thing that your crowd bitches that the left does.

Alford said she also received an email, saying her daughter's behavior "demonstrates a posture of morality and cultural acceptance contrary to that of Whitefield Academy's beliefs." Alford said the daughter's email was in reference to the post on social media, while the school said Kenney violated the student code of conduct numerous times over the past two years.

...The school's code of conduct addresses sexual orientation and notes that a student's off-campus behavior must align with those beliefs or face disciplinary action.

"All parents who enroll their children in our private school know up front that we ask the students to adhere to a lifestyle informed by our Christian beliefs," the school said in a statement.

Whitefield Academy in Kentucky expels student for wearing rainbow shirt, having rainbow cake, family says | abc13.com

    From MSN.com:

Jacobson, the Academy's head, says that expulsion came after "two years of continuous violations of our student code of conduct."

"Inaccurate media reports circling stating that the student in question was expelled from our school solely for a social media post," the school said in a statement. "In fact, she has unfortunately violated our student code of conduct numerous times over the past two years."

The school added that Whitefield Academy is accredited by ACSI/AdvaceED and a member of the Non Public School Commission of Kentucky, and therefore we meet all Kentucky regulations and laws. Our code is on pare [sic] with ther private Christian schools in our area. IT is unfortunate that one of the student's parents chose to post internal family matters on social media, and we hope our former student is not adversely affected by what her parents chose to make public about her situation." Thanks for the MSN linc. According to the mother the school has not always considered the rainbow to be linked to gay pride.
Alford added that the Whitefield Academy Parent Teacher Fellowship has even featured a rainbow image on its private Facebook page before later taking it down after the expulsion of her daughter.
This is what I mean by making up the rules as they go along. To paraphrase Dr. Freud, sometimes a rainbow is just a rainbow.
