Biden gets in testy exchange in Iowa: 'You're a damn liar'

I think not letting a likely pro-Trump plant get away with making baseless accusations against him and his son is appropriate. The heckler also asserted that Biden was too old to run. He's only 5 years older than Trump and in better shape. Biden defended himself against that too.

However, it is worthy to note the irony here. We have Trump devotees here castigating behavior from Biden that they willfully not only accept, but applaud, when Trump does worse. They surely are the first to foul, first to call foul, crowd.

It is perfectly acceptable to criticize rude behavior from Biden or Trump. It's certainly more notable from Biden, because he rarely looses his cool. And Biden is the topic of this thread.

As a reminder, there is a very heated primary going on. Biden is the frontrunner, and others are getting desperate to make headway, either to close the gap or to avoid being the next casualty. While the man may have been a Trump supporter, he could have just as easily been a supporter of one of the Democrat candidates.

In fact, most of the arrows (if not all) fired at the Biden campaign at this point are going to be from other Democrats.

But..but...he heard it on MSNBC, bwahaha.

I wonder how much the guy was paid by the Rump campaign?

How do you know what you would've done? Have you frequently appeared at a townhall as a candidate for election? Do you have thousands of public speaking events under your belt? Are you accustomed, having served in office yourself, to having questions thrown at you from an audience?

Well, I make a distinction between a private setting--e.g. a family holiday gathering--and a public setting. It's all about purpose and audience.

Is there a proper way to behave if you're a member of an audience? If it's a political Q and A, is asking a provocative or even mean-spirited question allowed? Wrong?

If you're the speaker/candidate, are there proscribed ways to behave? If you are, say, a professor speaking at a conference, what do you do if some asshat in the audience asks a hostile question? What should you do?

Are you still on the subject of politics, or are you now discussing public etiquette?

Do you make a distinction between general lies/badmouthing and the perpetuation of a lie propogated by the President of the United States for which he is being impeached? I think we're far beyond a professor speaking at a conference.

I know myself very well. I don't take **** from anybody, and I don't need to pretend I'm a professor speaking at a conference to know this. It's a conservative value in my world, and in Biden's as well. It's easy to separate the real conservative from the faux. One stands up for himself while the other runs - from an Islamist, allowing other Islamists to escape, and then invites the Islamist to the White House. Those star and crescent flags offended me.

I'll keep my principles and I'll side with the guy who stands up for himself.

Your post is all over the map. I'm not sure whether you simply couldn't follow my point or whether you just want to rant about whatever random tangential notion pops into your head, so I don't really have a response here.

I see it differently. Your point was an intellectualization of a basic human reaction to being attacked, and a value imbedded in culture and passed on by family and community. Maybe you're not following that.

The rant is not directed at you personally, and I apologize if I came off that way.

Biden didn't lose his cool. Indeed, this is the Joe Biden that we remember from his Senate days. He's always been feisty and quick to call people on their bs. People have been wondering where the Biden of old was. Looks like he's back.

1. If Biden is going to challenge everyone who brings up selling his office to benefit his son to a push-up contest, he’ll be ready to star in Rocky@100.

2. He just invited people to ask about CrackBoy cashing in on his VP CornPop’s office. I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t a more regular occurrence.

3. The video is hilarious...

4. Old Joe might get away with this in the primaries, but in the general (should he make it that far)... he’s gonna have to deal with it.

5. Remember... Obama had Yovanovitch prepped because of VP CornPop and CrackBoy’s seedy dealings in Ukraine... then add Romania and China.

Biden was lucky they guy wasn’t eloquent... Someone like me with the mic would have made a nice filet out of Biden.

Well, Democrats set a precedent with Kavanaugh. So, assuming that there is nothing to the accusation and it was all an innocent coincidence, Joe Biden is unfit for office due to his temperment. If Kavanaugh doesn't have the temperment to be on the Supreme Court then Biden doesn't have the temperment to be president. You should be able to level any accusations you want against someone and if they get mad about it (because it isn't true) then they are unfit for office.

Yet Kavanaugh is a Supreme Court Justice so Biden should be president. According your logic.

Just pointing out that the left should fight against Biden like they did Kavanaugh. Otherwise, they are hypocrites.

Well... no...

Biden, The King of Malarky... lacks the intellectual wherewithal to be President.

The guy was wrong about every major foreign policy issue during the past 40-years... is a known liar, a plagiarist, a con man who used his office to enrich his family and is an all-around numbskull deep into his regression towards infancy.

But... he’s the finest the Democrat Party has to offer... ROTFLOL...

If Biden had written that on this forum he would have been banned.

If Trump is president then Felix the Cat is able to be president.
Biden is the fascist candidate selected by the corporate elite who make US policy and laws...
