Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a staunch President Donald Trump ally, got called out on Twitter for baselessly speculating about Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and the whistleblower.

The Tennessee senator said that Vindman was the whistleblower’s “handler, without providing evidence for her assertion.

I wouldn't have used her word, "handler", but it is clear that Vindman is lying through his teeth when he says he doesn't know who the whistleblower is.

During his testimony, he said that he talked to a "member of the intel community" about the phone call. When asked what agency that person was in, Schiffty stepped in and ended that line of questioning, citing his rules about not identifying the whistleblower. Vindman's lawyer then justified not answering the question by citing Schiffty's rules.

It takes someone who is totally in the tank AGAINST Trump to not see that the person Vindman admitted talking to is, in fact, the whistleblower. If the person that Vindman talked to was not the whistleblower, he would have had to answer questions about them because he would not have been identifying the whistleblower.

Even if he did know, he couldn't say who it was....so what is the point of smearing and harassing him? Oh that's right, he's a foreign born American citizen and you're jealous that he's more American and done more for America than you will ever do.

She's a Trump boot licking sycophant. I'm ashamed she represents my state. It's says a lot that we elected that fraud and hack, none of it good. Howard Baker, the once standard bearer for the GOP in TN, is rolling over in his grave that Blackburn represents TN as a member of his former party. I dealt with him directly and he was a man of integrity in public and in private.

Agree about Baker. He was a good man, and a real Republican. Blackburn is like all the rest of the Trump fans - a fraud and a bad person.

LOL. Oh Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. Next she'll Tweet that being in Beauty Pageants were her "own Vietnam".

Just another example of a Republican Party that is anti-military so they don't embarrass the lying, draft-dodging coward in the WH. It's also another example of why we need election reform. Reps have to run every two years. I think four years is better with a 4 term limit. That way they don't have to suck up to the President for election support.

It's not clear. He might have an informed opinion, guess, speculate, but unless he's been told by the person - I am the person - he doesn't know.

Furthermore, let's say Vindman talked to someone NOT the guy people have guessed, and the guy alleged to be the WB. That too helps point the finger at the WB. If there are 10 people in the IC who have a need to know, Nunes can ask a series of witnesses "Did you talk to X? Y? Z?" and have him answer yes or no. When they get to the actual WB and Vindman refuses, if he knows, that's the guy. So the only way to protect him is to prohibit all answers. He can't just answer about those who he knows are NOT, if he knows or suspects who is. Any decent lawyer finds a way to get to THE guy in 2 minutes or so.

It was a blanket objection by Schiff and rightfully so. He did not know if Vindman knew the whistleblower so he just stopped the questions in their tracks. No proof that Vindman knows the WB is. He also testified under oath so if he did lie he could be charged with perjury. Blackburn's statement is noting but speculation

Perhaps you're not familiar with whistleblower laws. They are much different than Trump blower laws.

Gosh but you are clever. There is nothing stopping this hero from stepping forward. Except that he is either a *****, or is hiding something that would harm or embarrass the dems. Im guessing its a little of the former and a whole lot of the latter.
