Let's quote from the complaint - link above.

White House officials who had direct knowledge of the call, the President pressured Mr. Zelenskyy to, inter alia:

    initiate or continue an investigation into the activities of former Vice President Joseph Biden and his son, Hunter Biden;
    Not opinion. True.

assist in purportedly uncovering that allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election originated in Ukraine, with a specific request that the Ukrainian leader locate and turn over servers used by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and examined by the U.S. cyber security firm Crowdstrike, which initially reported that Russian hackers had penetrated the DNC’s networks in 2016; and
Not opinion. True enough - Trump doesn't say to "turn over" the server, but if Ukraine found it, I hardly think the Trump admin would be satisfied letting Ukrainians examine it and report back to Trump.

meet or speak with two people the President named explicitly as his personal envoys on these matters, Mr. Giuliani and Attorney General Barr, to whom the President referred multiple times in tandem.
    Not opinion. True.

Aside from the above-mentioned “cases” purportedly dealing with the Biden family and the 2016 U.S. election, I was told by White House officials that no other “cases” were discussed.
    Not opinion. True.

White House officials told me that they were “directed” by White House lawyers to remove the electronic transcript from the computer system in which such transcripts are typically stored for coordination, finalization, and distribution to Cabinet-level officials.

Instead, the transcript was loaded into a separate electronic system that is otherwise used to store and handle classified information of an especially sensitive nature. One White House official described this act as an abuse of this electronic system because the call did not contain anything remotely sensitive from a national security perspective.
Not opinion with regard to what happened and where it was stored. Also not opinion about what someone else said to him - that happened or not. We haven't verified that anyone told him that, but it doesn't matter. We know it was moved to a super-secure system, and few had access, not even the U.S. staff dealing with Ukraine on matters discussed in the call.

Etc. If you want to highlight some "opinions" alleged in the complaint and argue that the "opinions" haven't been verified or not, let's see your work. Just do it. Don't repeat dumb talking points like a right wing lemming.

It's all they can do because they know full well Trump is guilty as sin. Two psychological influences override the rest: (1) the natural human aversion to admitting one is wrong, here amplified to the maximum because there is no way the bulk of them don't know perfectly well how much of what they've been repeating are bold-face lies, (2) the need to tell oneself that one has always "owned the libtards."

Basically, they see this as war, whereas everyone else sees it as a particularly bad president who engaged in many corrupt acts, of which this is one.

The best we'll ever get is them saying in 20 years that they agree Trump was awful but they never really liked him anyway.

So it's no surprise Schiff wouldn't let Vindman go anywhere near Ciaramella today.

Wait, why does this matter? And I mean like, at all?
As I was just saying to Jasper, they really haven't left themselves anything else at this point. Everybody who is saying Trump did something wrong has to be part of a big conspiracy to *get* Trump. Sometimes they spin out actual theories with more than two points in them.

When they can't do that, you get threads like this. People are supposed to infer some completely undefined nefariousness from a claim that an aide to Schiff was an aide to the person they think is the whistleblower. Of course, they're already starting from the dishonest claim that this is all some grand conspiracy to *get* Trump, so maybe to them every time someone knows someone else, it's proof of conspiracy. But I have a hard time believing they actually believe this ****. It's too stupid to be real. They know they're lying and they simply do not care. It's about WINNING! and nothing else, especially not what's good for America.

For extra credit, look at the great lengths they have gone to to ignore all of Trump's connections to criminals and to Russia. Those connections? Oh, innocent, unless says Trump never knew the guy at which point they say it too.

Why does “winning” at all costs matter to these people?

Perhaps it has to do with the seeming victimhood narrative - look at what the liberals are doing to us / our way of life - that's been blaring out from most of the right for the last 10-20 years.

Maybe it's just their character. I don't know.

Maybe some are stupid enough to think liberals really are all conspiring to tear down America, thus all means necessary are to be used. But I doubt it. Someone that stupid wouldn't be able to turn on a computer.

Maybe it has something to do with character. Whatever it is, the blatantly dishonest defensiveness ugly and is only a slightly amplified/modified version of the offensive things they used against Obama.

Doesn’t it occur to them that their claims of constant victimhood contradict the supposed strength of their character? Why do they give in to the notion that they perpetually victims of someone else and abandon any notion of trying to be the master of their individual lives?
