Poll: 62% of Trump supporters say nothing he could do would change opinion

So 45 million Americans are part of a cult?

If you support someone completely independent of their actions and there's nothing they could ever do to make you lose their support, yes, you're in a cult. If 45 million happens to be that number, then that's what it is.

He once joked about being able to murder someone on the street and he wouldn't lose supporters. We all laughed and shook our heads, but it turns out he was absolutely right. Most of you are so drunk on his kool-aid you would defend him, scream that it's all a lie, and start attacking the prosecutors and cops that try to bring him to justice.

62% of people who approve of the job Donald Trump is doing as president say they can't think of anything he could do that would cause him to lose their support

Not a cult. Totally not a cult.

Hmmm... also from that same poll citation:

The other side: Among those who disapprove of the job Trump is doing (467 respondents), 70% say there's nothing the president could do to gain their support.

Does this also make THOSE citizens a "cult?" :coffeepap:

How can permanently not liking someone be a cult? Are you seriously clueless to what a cult is?

Why I still respond to you surprises me. In the first place, I don't agree with your assertion that Trump supporters are "cultists," while those who oppose his Administration with equal "fervor" cannot fall under your same label.

On the one hand you claim an absolute opinion in favor of something is "cultist." Meanwhile you counterclaim that an absolute opinion in opposition to something cannot be "cultist."

Let prove you wrong. There is a nasty little "church" in Westboro Kansas who hate Gays so much they are willing to protest military funerals based on their hatred. Would you not consider them a "cult?"

Love and hate are opposite emotional poles, and "cultists" typically have no problem loving and hating with equal fervor.

I disagree with your demonizing of those who don't agree with your views, it's just typical moral panic tactics. Just know that other's could use you own knife to cut both ways. :coffeepap:

cult [kuhlt]
noun
  • a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
  • an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, especially as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
  • the object of such devotion.
  • a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.

Hating Trump does not fit the definition. And just because 38 million people display this behavior does not exclude it as being a fitting term for Trump supporters. Many Trump supporters don't believe he tells lies. That would be a symptom of cult-like behavior.

He didn't even get 19 minutes to settle into the office before your side started calling for his head. Technically he didn't even get the day after the election. So why would his supporters not defend him no matter what considering those circumstance? Why should they believe your side? Your side made it very clear you hate his guts and will do whatever it takes to remove him, and this was right from the get go, no chance to prove himself, no quarter no nothing. Obama got time, nobody called for his head after he was elected. For what its worth I am glad your side decided to go to war straight from the start. It kept Trump from making deals with you. He would have made deals with you. Lots of deals. Many would have been to my detriment. So I really appreciate you hate his guts as it kept Trump on my side and that you keep trying to throw him in jail you have made and enemy of him. He don't like you at all. Which is good for me as deals with the Dems will be far and few between and as one sided as he can make them to my favor.

I believe it! I never thought I would see Americans turn on John McCain and attack his war record all because he spoke out vs Trump.

Yeah, his logic went a bit astray there. Considering the group he calls a cult is vehemently attesting to not want be involved in a cult!

The really bad part about the die hard trumpsters is they will still be out there after trump is gone.

We know their true feelings now and it is not a pretty sight.

Right wing media created.them. now they are destroying the party of the right.

Does this really surprise folks? Personally I've discounted almost everything that comes from the right. Sure they're vocal but they are still in the minority. What surprises me is how this president has managed to take a party that were mortal enemies of russia and turn them into co-conspirators to help russia undermine americans and our institutions.

Can you imagine a republican in the reagan era wearing a t-shirt that said I would rather be russian than a democrat?
