NY Times Poll: In 6 Swing States Majority Oppose Impeachment

I agree. I don't think Pelosi wanted this, but she got bested by the radical leftists in her party. I can't wait until they impeach and send it to the Senate, where McConnell will keep her Democrats yolked to DC and off the campaign trail for a very long time.

How does that work? The Dems prosecuting the case will be re-elected without campaigning; the Dems in the Senate are not at risk, for the most part. The Republicans in the Senate, however, do not have such luxury. The Senate is very, very much in play. McConnell shenanigans too close to election will assure a senate flip (which will likely happen, anyway).

Reid had over 100 during his tenure. Your guys were okay with the tactic when it wasn't biting them in the ass. They want bills passed, try bi-partisan efforts before sending them to the Senate.

No link? Are we just supposed to buy your blurts.

Each and every American will be the judge of whether this president bargained with a foreign government for a political favor, now that the witness testimonies are going public. I just hope that if the majority of Americans agree with the impeachment resolution, that Republicans will be honest, and do the right thing.

Hope in one hand, **** in the other, and see which one fills up first.

This is going to look real ugly. The Democrats looks desperate and America knows it

I also believe the Democrats know it. That can be the only reason to go all in on impeachment.

What's interesting is that Democrats do not understand that impeachment will not remove President Trump from office. More likely it will help him in the election.

I just don't get it.

I truly doubt your assessment. Put Ambassador Taylor in front of the American people, talking about his witnessing of Quid Pro Quo. Then put the other two witnesses out there. Trump will come across as the Law-Breaker that he has been all his life.

5000 accusations. O arrests, 0 convictions. Including 4990 accusations in the past 3 years.

But regarding the American voter, 3/4 can't spell quid pro quo, let alone know what it means. Maybe 2% will watch any part of the so called hearings. 4% will care. If the impeachers actually succeed, it will not remove the President from office. Failing that it can only help Candidate Trump.

I see no upside for the left. Trump will retain his title. The House could suffer major losses.

I just saw Pelosi on a talk show. She didn't want this back in March. She had no choice on the Ukrainian matter. Trump made a mockery of our democracy, and she was forced to act. There are too many witnesses to the phone call, so the case is cut and dry, and it will be presented to the American people.

No, there have been 2 "witnesses" with direct knowledge and they so no qpq. The hearsay witnesses with an agenda have differing opinions...on Trump's policies.
I do agree however, that Pelosi had no choice. Politically speaking, strictly.

Republicans were invited to every hearing. They prefer to bamboozle people like you with their media shows.

Right
The process is quite fair when you can’t question witnesses or call witnesses or have representation for the accused.

Those two will be exposed for their lies. One of them gave $100,000 to Trump's campaign. There are 3 credible witnesses, who have worked for the leaders of both parties, who say QPQ.

I mean, Schiff has only issued 24 subpoena's so far. Republicans gave most committee chairs subpoena power between 2011 and 2015, they used this power to launch perpetual investigation into the Obama admin, issuing hundreds of subpoenas.

Under the Benghazi committee, the chair had to ask the ranking minority about any subpoenas he wanted to issue, but if the minority disagreed, the chair could issue it anyway. The minority could not request subpoenas, nor file a motion for a committee vote.

Now, the ranking minority can request subpoenas, and if the chair agrees, a subpoena is issued. They can also file a motion to vote on a subpoena in the committees as well.

If they had full subpoena power again, they would simply issue so many subpoenas that it would clog up proceedings. The Judiciary committee has the option to give the minority subpoena power during its hearings, but it also has the option of removing the president's counsel if the president doesn't cooperate, as the President is only guaranteed counsel during the Senate trial.

Look at your date. McConnell was the Senate Majority Leader. Oops!

You didn't read:

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told "Fox News Sunday" in June 2014 that then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was responsible for holding up 240 House bills.

It was kinda the same for Nixon, and how did that turn out???

Well, Democrats were comparing the Mueller investigation saying that it was worse than Nixon. How did that turn out?

I oppose impeachment too, but the Democrats are doing the right thing. Trump has always considered himself to be above the law, and it's important to call out that sort of behavior, otherwise future presidents will strike similar deals. Most Democrats in Congress do not want to impeach the president. He left them no choice.

Meanwhile, Democrats have been abusing their power for three years now.

The top witness is the Ukraine president himself but Democrats want to ignore that fact.

This article really shows your bias. Three points...

1. First you said 500 House Bills were held up. Now you say 240.
2. Second, the Republican House leader said it, so it must be true.
3. It was reported on FOX News.

Three strikes - you're out!

I said over 100. Go back and read it knee jerk reactionist dismissal artist of questionable reading skills.

A poll is a poll is a poll.

The key is knowing what the poll really says, and how it arrived at its conclusion. For example, a lot of people (particularly conservative) are under the impression that "all the polls said Hillary Clinton was going to win in 2016." That's not quite what they said.

In particular, precisely what question is being asked is important. A majority oppose "impeachment and removal" at this point, but surely the reasonable course is to see what the inquiry turns up. Only 45% oppose the inquiry.

Gee, I wonder what the inquiry is going to turn up. We've got a bunch of rabid TDS Democrats who have been trying to get Trump in any way they possibly can. It's one thing after another after another. Hell, they wanted to impeach Trump before he was even sworn in! It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to figure out what the inquiry is going to come up with. It's all partisan politics. They don't give a damn about the truth.

Says a guy who outright rejects literally any and all evidence that Trump says is false.

Post #33 - you said "400". But go ahead back to your FOX News lies. I'm sure you can find anything to suit your agenda.
