Turning to Putin, Erdogan ignores U.S. agreement for northeastern Syria

As a cease-fire in northern Syria expired Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two leaders announced a joint plan to evict Kurdish YPG fighters from northeast Syria -- displeasing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, as well as the U.S. Nick Schifrin reports and joins special correspondent Jane Ferguson and Judy Woodruff to discuss.

But at such a bitter cost to our country and those who have fought with us. :(
 
Russia had the power to isolate Erdogan's Turkey, instead he gave him a geopolitical life-boat in the form of Putin's Asshole Russia. Turkey should be kicked out of NATO and Russia replaced with Ukraine on the UN Security Council as the legit successor state. **** Erdogan and **** Putin. And Trump, **** him most of all.

Pissing on the graves of 11,000 dead Kurdish fighters who did our dirty work and deserve almost all of the credit for taking down Daesh doesn’t sound good nor look good to Patriotic Americans. Neither does Turkey using Arab terrorist proxies to clean out the Kurds.

Having hundreds of thousands of Kurdish civilians forcibly removed from their homes and turned into homeless refugees makes the USA look like cowards and as completely unreliable allies to the rest of our allies, beginning with Israel.

The sight of American vehicles being pelted with vegetables by desperate Kurds looked and sounded good to Daesh, Syria, Russia, Turkey, and Iran. THAT is why GOPoliticians and Evangelical Leaders are sick to their stomachs AT THE WAY our Coward-in-Chief sold out the good guys.

And no, I don’t expect you to get it, EVER.

Allow me thx to interrupt your post to another poster. I wanted to remind you I asked before about Roy Moore down there in Bama.

Whether Roy Moore is running for U.S. Senate again. Cause I don't remember how you voted last time. Or maybe you didn't say.

Moore fits right in with the Putin-Trump Rowers, for sure. After all Moore is a good Republican and Conservative Wasp. That''s a perfect fit indeed. Moore doesn't have to wish for anything about it.

Trump meanwhile says he's being lynched. Our fearless potus would say that kind of assinine thing of course. So while Roy Moore is pleased he's white Donald Trump wants us to think he's the same as a black man victim of KKK since it was formed in the ashes of the civil war.

The Right's posts btw get curiouser and curiouser. That's cause there's just no defending Trump is there. You guys keep going further and further off the beaten path. The very beaten path.

1. There would be 10 times that many graves if the US had not helped the Kurds defeat ISIS.

2. The US never promised to defend the Kurds from the Turks, Assad or Russia.

3. Basing foreign policy on "optics" is bad.

4. Getting the US out of that 300 year old mess is good.

I don't think Russia is really enjoying being "gifted" with the responsibility for standing between Assad and Erdogan.

The US accomplished what we "worked hard for"...militarily destroying ISIS. If those terrorists make a comeback, it won't be our fault...and it won't be our responsibility to deal with. It'll be Putin's baby.

Trump wasn't even in office yet when Putin stood before the UN and told the world that Russia was standing behind its ally Syria and its legitimate government. Russia deserves to win one.

Nobody in the entire US government has ever made such a principled speech on the world stage, ever. Our actions on the world stage are rendition, torture, and the murder of innocents by drone.

Trump is literally capitulating to Putin and you are ok with it. For people who called Obama weak when Putin took Crimea, this is breathtaking.

You can try to marginalize this all that you want but this gives Russia a significant foothold in the Middle East.

They absolutely should, if nothing else, they have access to classified materials they could easily pass to Russia.

Do you really think Putin wants to be the one who has to get between Assad and Erdogan? One guy who is fighting to get part of Syria and another guy who wants his country back?

Trump is right...let Putin have it.

"glory"?? Our foreign policy should never be about "glory".

The Middle East is a money pit. Trump has stopped the US from throwing dollars into the pit. Putin has increased the money he's throwing into the pit.

That's a good thing.

Why? What would non-capitulation look like? Did you want us to plant the American flag in Syria and stay there forever? Hating Trump isnt a policy.
 
The pee tape has to be real. No man would trash our allies this much unless he was trying to make sure that some tape showing his weenie didn't make it on the Internet.
