Report: ‘Whistleblower' Didn't Disclose Contact w/ House Intel Panel to IG

The partisan CIA officer behind a so-called “whistleblower” complaint about President Donald Trump’s telephone call with the leader of Ukraine reportedly did not disclose his communications with a House Intelligence Committee staffer to the Intelligence Community inspector general.

According to Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge, inspector general Michael Atkinson told lawmakers that he had “no knowledge” of the officer’s contacts with the House Intel panel aide. This week, a New York Times report revealed that the officer and staff member first discussed the allegations against the president before the inspector general received the complaint.

The partisan CIA officer behind a so-called “whistleblower” complaint about President Donald Trump’s telephone call with the leader of Ukraine reportedly did not disclose his communications with a House Intelligence Committee staffer to the Intelligence Community inspector general.

The Times reported that the staffer shared several of the officer’s claims with House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA). The California Democrat is under fire for erroneously claiming in a recent interview that “we have not spoken directly with the whistleblower.”

President Trump reacted Friday to Herridge’s report, tweeting: “WOW, this is big stuff!”

The report raises further questions about both the CIA officer and his complaint. As Breitbart News reported, the so-called “whistleblower” failed to follow the law for protecting intelligence community members seeking to report wrongdoing by contacting the House Intelligence Committee before the Intelligence Community inspector general:

Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act (ICWPA) of 1998 explicitly requires an official concerned about wrongdoing within the government to go to the IC inspector general before the congressional panels in charge of oversight of the intelligence community.

It certainly is big stuff.
Sounds like the democrats are in more hot water. Is the democratic impeachment attempt unraveling like a cheap sweater right before our very eyes?

Trump is on tape....a tape he tried to cover up.... Who's really in hot water ?

Yes, this is big stuff.

And now, it seems, another person in the CIA and a person in the White House knew about the complaint before it was made public. Makes you wonder who told them about it...the IG? the blower? someone from Schiffty's committee?

How many OTHER people were in on this?

These type of threads should be bookmarked so we can do welfare checks after Trump is Impeached.

How are you claiming that changes the validity of the complaint? The transcript of the phone call matches the complaint.

This just in, Fox news cries that Democrats are in HOT WATER! Meanwhile, the president was caught in transcript and has publicly admitted to the general claim, that he was using the office of the president of the Untied States to coerce a foreign government to dig up or manufacture dirt on his chief political rival(s). Of course, if that wasn't enough, he hired Rudy outside of government to be his fixer on this, fired Ukrainian envoys who wouldn't go along with the corrupt act and warned against it for phony reasons, and then claimed he was really interested in addressing "corruption". When asked what other ways to address corruption Trupm had brought up with Ukraine other than Biden, Trump replied "we'd have to look into that". All this and we still don't even have the requested records, or all the testimony. And posts like this thread, are intended to muddy the water on what should be a matter of national, bipartisan concern. Instead, they are pissed that Democrats "act concerned" and just say its hand-wringing, let Trupm be Trump! After all Republicans plead, we're a nation of men, not laws!

How confident are you that Trump will be impeached?
Care to test that confidence with a friendly bet?

Was wondering which right wing site posted that garbage - Breitbart! The bolded is a lie. Seems like even friendly readers would get tired of blatant falsehoods like that in a 'news' story....

Anyway, it appears the "Shoot the Messenger" strategy is going to be big for a few more days. Kind of boring.

He was a first hand!!!!! source for the original WB, interviewed by the IG as part of his investigation to confirm the original account, and is considering filing his own complaint. He's not protected if he speaks to Congress other than through the official, lawful WB process the original guy used, and that the right wing is busy crapping all over for some dumbass reason.

Seems like several people were concerned about Trump conditioning foreign policy on those countries doing him personal favors for the 2020 election. More patriots than we thought in the Trump WH which is excellent news!

Who is first hand source...and how do you know that?

Breitbart? They still exist?

And now ANOTHER official is thinking of filing another WB complaint with the ICIG? My feelings are that this won't be the last and more will step forward:cool:

I'm just reading the account in the NYT.

2nd Official Is Weighing Whether to Blow the Whistle on Trump’s Ukraine Dealings - The New York Times

WASHINGTON — A second intelligence official who was alarmed by President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine is weighing whether to file his own formal whistle-blower complaint and testify to Congress, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The official has more direct information about the events than the first whistle-blower, whose complaint that Mr. Trump was using his power to get Ukraine to investigate his political rivals touched off an impeachment inquiry. The second official is among those interviewed by the intelligence community inspector general to corroborate the allegations of the original whistle-blower, one of the people said.

The inspector general, Michael Atkinson, briefed lawmakers privately on Friday about how he substantiated the whistle-blower’s account.

They're grasping at straws because Trump has been caught by the words that came out of his own mouth, recorded by every news organization. So, they're using their common "follow the shiny object" deflection.

Breitbart? They still exist?

I know! I had forgotten about them as well. I made a bet with myself which site posted it, and sadly didn't win a prize for guessing correctly. Breitbart didn't even come to mind. SAD!

Was at a boring dinner/awards thing tonight and read an article by Tucker Carlson. He repeated the same lie about the WB "colluding" with Schiff. So I guess it's a talking point.

Ahhh...so one of those officials - the White House guy - is one of the people who talked to the blower. I'm thinking we'll need to know what "more direct information" he had. Did he leak the transcript to the blower? Was he listening in on the call? Or did he hear a rumor from someone else and pass it on to the blower?

Yeah...let's find out if THIS guy has anything other than second hand information, eh?

But since we already know what went on in the phone call, I won't hold my breath. If he was useful to Schiffty HE would have been the blower. Not some other guy who knew nothing.

Why are you repeating lies about Schiff's role in the WB process? Kind of labels you a hopeless partisan or someone who reads and believes stuff from really terrible sources who lie to you.

And I don't know what additional information he has, but there is some reason he apparently is considering putting his own career at stake to tell what he knows. We'll see I guess.

Don't hold your breath.

For what? You to quit posting lies from garbage sites? I won't.

Otherwise, "I don't know....we'll see" pretty obviously indicates I'm not holding my breath about what this guy reports.

Hate to break it to you, but your little house of cards is going to come crashing down, and soon. There is absolutely ZERO truth in your post.

You choose to believe the left wing narrative you do so at your own peril. I can tell you one thing. They don't have your best interests at heart. Or if you think they do, you might be very mislead. The fact of the matter is that democrats have been trying to oust Trump since day one. They are just throwing mud at the wall and hoping some of it sticks. Reality is this impeachment inquiry is a hoax and a hail mary from the democratic party because they are grasping at straws. If anyone needs to be investigated, its Biden. And I have a pretty good idea that this impeachment will backfire on the democrats, exposing them as frauds that they are. Once Trump walks away unscathed from this liberal hack job, Trump derangement syndrome will be in full swing and likely diagnosed as a national emergency. So don't change the channel --- this is going to get interesting.

Trump supporters have to attack everything.

Like a gang banger's mom in Baltimore.
