The Whistleblower suggests that Trump is a threat to national security because he made a promise to a foreign leader about a matter of 'urgent concern'. We will learn about this, and I don't expect the nature of the promise, and who the promise was made to, will benefit Trump.

Here's is Cenk's TYT commentary:

And from Talking Points Memo:

The Whistleblower Complaint Is About Trump | Talking Points Memo

For days we’ve been hearing about the standoff between Chairman Adam Schiff and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence over a whistleblower complaint. Josh Kovensky walked us through some of the details this afternoon. Now The Washington Post has escalated the story dramatically by reporting that the complaint is about President Trump himself and centers on a “promise” he made to foreign leader. The complaint was filed on August 12th. So this is all quite recent.

There’s a lot of discussion and context in the Post article. But that’s the central reported detail. It’s not clear who the foreign leader was or what was promised or really anything else. The additional key detail is this: the complaint from the unidentified whistleblower was submitted to Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson. He determined that the complaint was credible and troubling enough to be a matter of “urgent concern”, a legal standard that requires reporting the matter to Congress.

President Barack Obama was caught on microphone telling Dmitry Medvedev that he would have more flexibility after November's election deal with contentious issues such as missile defence.

The fact that Atkinson considered the whistleblower's complaint to be credible and troubling means we should have absolutely NO choice but to investigate it. The fact that Trump and his corrupt people and his supporters think it should be ignored is even more troubling.

More troubling, but no surprise at all.

That stupid video again. A dollar says you’re completely unable to explain what’s wrong with what Obama said.

Adam Schiff has found someone new to lie about Trump? He just doesn't give up does he?

I can only hope that the whistleblower has the courage to come forward publicly. Yes, I understand the enormous cost that would have to him or her. But the trump admin is 100% corrupt and the acting DNI isn’t going to hand over the complaint to the House.

Um, well, like duh, man.

And the only thing that tired old story has that makes it appear even a little suspect is it was caught on an open Mike, when Obama would have said it publicly if needed. Here was nothing nefarious about the comment...

I hope so too. But I really hope that Congress finds a way to investigate this without putting that person at risk. Congress has oversight, and if both the whistleblower and Atkinson said this is "credible and troubling" means that it has to be investigated.

Trump Fan Nation will continue with their idiotic whatabouts, attacking Schiff, and so on, not caring one little bit if in fact the President did something that is considered by at least 2 people now to be a national security threat.

Do you have some insider knowledge about the whistleblower that we don't yet? Or are you one of the ones who think John Bolton is a progressive lolz. :lamo

Depending on what country it is and what the promise was, it could even be traitorous.

Shhh. I want to watch renae fumble her way through an explanation. More likely though is she’ll just attack me personally for asking.

To me it always seemed like Obama was trolling him. The way he carried that statement, was like, "Yeah, sure...We'll help you after the election..."

"... After my election I have more flexibility. ..."

How did he know for sure he would win the election?

I would hate to be a Trump supporter. You have to worry about **** every day.

Because he was a great president and he knew America did not want another Republican to destroy the economy he had just repaired...

Obama had a knack for going against his constituents. Thus the need to wait post election

This time, it's serious because if it weren't, the Inspector General would not be taking this to Congress. When the Inspector General reported this incident using the exact words, 'urgent concern', that wasn't just two words put together out of his own choosing. The IG was using terminology that's specific to a statute, a legal threshold. It's specific wordage used in the statutory U.S. code for the IG.

We're so accustomed to hearing 'hair on fire' descriptions of things to alarm us, but this time the term 'urgent concern' is a term defined in the U.S. statute code for any U.S. Inspector General. What falls under that threshold? The statute itself talks about flagrant abuse of power and illegal acts. This is not in the category of things we've seen Trump do in the past such as sharing Israeli top secret intelligence with the Russians in the Oval Office or tweeting out a highly classified satellite image of Iran just a few weeks ago. Inspector General's are aware of such things and those are not illegal, the president can do that. Whatever he did or is alleged to have done here falls into another category possibly in this statutory definition of 'flagrant abuse of power'. It was concerning enough that the Inspector General felt that Congress should know, and must know about it. The Congress is now aware that something happened, they just don't know the substance or details of the concern.

Agreed,i think this is far bigger than we know at this time.

It will be awhile before we find out though, the trump obstruct machine is running and court dates are being set as we speak...

Why should they sacrifice their life/career, for our system that we're too lazy to fix?
More importantly, I know if you stop and think about it, you of all people know that there is no standard that Trump supporters hold Trump accountable to. It will likely make no difference if they come out. POTUS can do whatever he wants, that's been established already, legally, and in terms of political support.

They will be labeled a felon, Bars will prosecute them, they will be demonized, and ignored by everyone who already supports Trump, and pitied by all those who already oppose him.
