An explosion occurred in the Novosibirsk Center for Virology "Vector"

It looks like the blast/fire was in a construction area, so it IS a good chance that the more .. dangerous biological components are properly safe guarded

Maybe, maybe not. I’m not trusting my life or my wife’s life to Russian reassurances.

I'm not visiting Russia, that's for sure.

Someone I used to play volley ball with was an illustrator for the Stand. There was a special, leather bound edition of 26 copies of the stand that were made of that version, and he got one of those copies.. (which he gave to another person I know)

Here is a sample of the art he did for that book

The illustration looks familiar to me. Was that the only version illustrations were in?

I am not sure, but Bernie was an amazing artist. That was a fun volley ball group, since there were a lot of fairly well known comic book artists there.

It's an hidden warfare that either we want to know or don't.

I hope to go outing the first round. I don't want to deal with the crazy Lord of the Flies aftermath......

Not an equivalent. You got a site that is dedicated to Russian propaganda verses an actual news paper.

No wonder she is so found of it......

You are arguing semantics. It's still a site for AMERICANS and no need to translate like in the O/P...and I see nothing in what I posted above that they got wrong. Do you?
Of course you don't... you're just splitting hairs.

Tell you what, if you are worried about misinformation coming from the media, try fixing The New York Times.

And good luck with that... :2wave:

I'm with RAMOSS on this one....

RT is a Russian run network....

Less biased than the English-speaking version of Radio Pyongyang.... But not by that much.

Or, it could be that someone sabotaging the Russian military projects. China?? The Ukraine?

China wouldn't sabotage their butt buddies...would they?

It was probably some vodka-drinking chump who fiddled when he should have faddled. Being tanked while on the job is almost a prerequisite over there.

There was a lot wrong with the tv series. It's ripe for an HBO or Netflix remake if you ask me.

Gotta make some sacrifices for a Made for TV when it's based on a book that's 1000+ pgs long.

The way things are going, they are only "fire and furying" themselves.

Well, if this did result in a viral outbreak, carriers could already be in every major metro area in world before Russia ever admits to it.

The Kid's end.

Hopefully, but the two disasters in a row make it seem like they're in kind of a hurry to strike someone. No worries, I'm sure trump and his administration is on it <sarcasm >.

Don't all disasters happen, "in a row"?

...because they are only qualified as "disasters" they are the only things that will appear on the list.

Smallpox has been eradicated.

There's just 3 scientific laboratories that still have the smallpox virus,

Self-Ownage is simply the best...

Meaning you contradicted yourself in the same post...

Aren't you being just a tad nitpicky'ish? I was clear. Smallpox has been eradicated which in simpler terms means the virus is no longer a threat to humans. In October 1977 the World Health Organization (WHO) certified the global eradication of the disease. Of course there are smallpox viruses stored in only 3 different places in the world. ALL viruses and bacteria are stored by laboratories in case you didn't know that. Two of these facilities that have the smallpox virus are in the United States and the other is in Russia.

Clear now? I never contradicted myself.

Yep.

Contradiction!

I indeed know that...

Clear now? I never contradicted myself.

Except you did. Next time do not use the term "eradicated" and you will fair much better....

Is it acceptable by your standards that the World Health Organization declared smallpox as E-R-A-D-I-C-A-T-E-D ?

Nope. They would have to add an amendment... "eradicated, meaning no longer a threat, to society, although we do keep some protected for the purpose of vaccinations should the need ever arise again"...

Something like that would be accurate.

Your argument holds no water. Go find some other nit to pick.
